Called into T-Mobile today because I got a text saying my plan is increasing by $5/line since my older T-Mobile One plan has been the same price for 8 years. The rep told me that there is a targeted offer available to some older plans that started today 3/13/25. Bring your own device and get a free line. I had to pay $10 for a sim card, but they were able to credit me $10 to my account.

Worth a try to call in if you have an older plan. YMMV.

Careful. Is one of your free lines a BOGO already? If so you won't qualify for another BOGO.

Edit: at least not without opening another paid line first.
Yes, one of my paid line is a BOGO from Apple promo ID230417. Add a line, free a line along with free iPhone 13 from last year deal. If this is the case than I won't qualify for another BOGO correct? But if I open another new paid line then I can have another BOGO right? Okay, let's say down the road would it benefit me if I go up to 9-12 lines? Thanks!

For those that don't have the banner in t-life, but had success adding a free line did you have to use one of the promo codes posted previously and if so which one? Or did you just ask if you were eligible for a free line?

I went through TLife chat and asked for help adding a free line. I did not get the text or in-app banner. I also did not have any other free lines on my plan, but am on a legacy Sprint plan, Advantage Unlimited Plus.

Than why did online agent said estimate at $180/mo? Just curious how it is calculated.

1. T-Force or customer care does not fully understand the billing details for 9 line plans.
2. Lou2004 may be overshooting a little too.

Did you open this recent free line from this thread or no?

Although T-LIFE said I was not eligible because I already have two free lines

Contacting them on X and the rep said I qualified.

Have Insider Discount as well.

I did not add this new promo BOGO as I don't have anybody in my family wanting to join me. If my bill go down from 9-12 lines. Probably along the way I'll see any family member want to join me. You think that would be best benefit. Thanks!

This thread isn't a BOGO. It's a free line. So did you add a new line this week or last week?

Sorry should have been clear. I'm not qualify for this new promo in this thread as agent said I have more than 2+ free lines. No adding new line anything.

You can check Promotions --> Service Promos to see if ID250259 is in your account. If you want the hidden details, follow the Self Service Instructions in this post, specifically looking at the promotions-experience package.
When you click on link in that post it takes you to a reddit post that says [deleted by user].

It has been established by now that agents may say this but the billing system does not seem to enforce that limitation. What you could do is contact T-Force and ask to add a line. Not a free line, just a line, but you want to keep your plan. They will then (hopefully) move you from the 2-8 plan to the 9-12 line plan. What this does is it will increase your free line credits and hopefully lower your bill.

Base price for 9 lines of Magenta Max is $370 after price increase. Each free line yields you $35 in credits. So if the newly added line is not free then you will still have 5 free lines which yield you a discount of $175. Additionally, your Insider will give you another $74 for a grand total of $121. If the newly added line is in fact free (and the billing system will do this automatically, no need to ask agent for a free line) then you'd be looking at 6 free lines. Math here would be $370 - $210 (free lines) - $74 (Insider) = $86.

So you see, it doesn't really matter if the next line is free or not. You'd still be saving money. If the newly added line is free you will receive a text message congratulating you on promotion ID250259.

I just wanted to pop in and give an update.

Magenta Max 2 paid, 1 free, 1 digits, Home Internet.

Tile for free line appeared in T-Life app.

Instead of calling or chatting, added new BYOD via T-Life, physical sim.

$0 out of pocket, SIM arrived today. Put it in a spare unlocked iPhone 6S Plus.

Viewing Account > Cost Summary on T-Mobile website via web browser I see "$30 Line Discount ID250259 (Additional Lines)" Nice!

Now I have Magenta Max 2 paid, 2 free, 1 digits, Home Internet.

Credit goes to the posters who mentioned T-Force Reps said to add the BYOD line in the app yourself which sidesteps fees and activation charges while triggering the discount automatically. It worked for me.

Hope this helps someone like me who doesn't care to call or chat with T-Mobile.
I got the free line tile in the app and tried adding a line in the app and it's not giving me the option to order a sim. It's asking me for an IMEI to activate via esim as the only option. If I use a browser and log into my account that way it gives an option to add a line with a physical sim but not in the TLife app.

I went ahead and added the line through the browser and then called in and they confirmed the free line promotion will attach to the line I added via the browser. The rep said I should have been charged $10 for the line but that I'm good to go. Saved me $10. Thanks.
