Called into T-Mobile today because I got a text saying my plan is increasing by $5/line since my older T-Mobile One plan has been the same price for 8 years. The rep told me that there is a targeted offer available to some older plans that started today 3/13/25. Bring your own device and get a free line. I had to pay $10 for a sim card, but they were able to credit me $10 to my account.

Worth a try to call in if you have an older plan. YMMV.

Really only interested in using the data. The concern is will T-Mobile limit speeds or kill the free line if you put the sim in a Metropcs A9+ tablet?
This should be of interest to you and others who may have such plans:

https://tmo.report/2025/02/rumor-...r-devices/

It can be done for now, but.............

IMHO, and that's just an opinion, T-Mo will be more interested in chasing down people who may be using its various SIM cards in Internet Gateways and/or the new routers that can accept a SIM card and using it as Home Internet data devices.
Some of these new routers can be hacked to spoof a proper IMEI that should belong to the device attached to that particular SIM card to look like the permitted device so fooling the cellular system.

T-Mo is selling 5G Home Internet and is placing strict limits on its 5G Home Internet Gateways per location/cell tower. Many of its locations are already saturated and T-Mo doesn't allow any more HI Gateway subscribers.
It doesn't want its system grinding down slow and spoiling the 5G experience for all its users, cell phones and Home Internet.

I did. The first representative denied it because I have more than two free lines. I tried again, and the second representative confirmed that my plan is eligible and added the line. I paid $10 and already saw the promotion.
I already have 3 free lines and they gave me another free line by just showing the free line offer on the T-Mobile app at the store

Thanks for the info. Sounds like it's not worth risking the free line if they are going to be looking to crack down soon. Preventing people from using it on a gateway makes sense. Never understood why they cared if a tablet was using a phone line sim as a general policy since phone lines typically cost more than tablet lines. They would come out ahead if I use it as a tablet line versus me telling my mom to cancel her account and use it.

They couldn't actually add the promo to my account and ended up charging full price. This is despite multiple reps saying they saw I was eligible and that it would apply. Except it didn't.

If you don't see the promo within a few days it's probably not actually going to work for you. Watch your bill. Good luck.

I also don't see the promo under my account even though rep confirmed that I am eligible. I doubt it will be get applied in 1 or 2 billing cycles. I will just cancel this line in that case.

SERO/SWAC/Unlimited Advantage Pandora Premium mess: called this morning about missing PP on my account (got my plan UA and others back: Netflix, Apple TV+, Hulu) and the agent from 611 couldn't add it back on. He told me he wrote an email to a higher end department to explain my case for them to add it back on because he has no authority to do it. Got to wait 24 hrs or until Monday because of weekend.Anyone has the phone # of the higher authority to do almost everything? Back to Sprint time there's a # to call to solve those problem but now it's T-mobile ...
Need to contact TForce through Facebook messenger or Twitter. I used Facebook (reach out to TMobile business via chat and their social media response team will help you out.)

I added this free line to an existing 4 line magenta max plan, 4th line already free. First rep said I qualified and did it, took 10 min and esim was activated. Promo never showed in my promo section. I got back on chat and 2nd rep said nothing to worry about, may take up to 2 cycles to show and they'll credit me if this happens. I've been down this road and it's always been a battle, I'm not having high hopes.

Report back please. If they proceed you will get a series of text messages telling you that you've been un-enrolled from all your current promotions - that's normal and no reason to freak or to call TMO again. It'll sort itself out on its own. Good luck
Update: I reach out to T-Force asking to add a line like you said. The rep keep insisting that I'm qualify for a free line under BYOD. I ask is it ID250259 and he said yes. Then I replied, it was a targeted promo and I was told I'm not qualify under my plan.

Then I thought let me ask him this question to see what answer he give me. I told him a rep told me that "I'm max at 8 lines, the promo ID250259 does not applied to my account. I was told a rep. could put me on Magenta Max 9-12 lines."
He replied back with this;
You keep the same plan we just have to change the billing code for 9+ lines. It doesn't actually change your plan at all. They opened up the targeted offer due to confusion so you do qualify for it after all! ^CG

Is what he said is the same as you told me that they will hopefully move me to 9-12 lines or what he said change the billing code for 9+ lines is something else different. Sorry if I don't understand I just want to make sure that T-Force is not screwing up my account that's all.
Thank you very much!

This is what I said two days ago. You should just follow it like that instead of confusing TMO agents and yourself.

"What you could do is contact T-Force and ask to add a line. Not a free line, just a line, but you want to keep your plan. They will then (hopefully) move you from the 2-8 plan to the 9-12 line plan."

Yes, that is exactly what I ask the agent to add a line and want to keep my plan. But things go other way. I'll try it again as it's seem weekend is their busiest or something take so long for them to reply 1-2 sentences. I will report back. thank you much appreciated!

You'll rock. Magenta Max isn't even a grandfathered plan so it should all work out. Changing the billing code (quoting from your post) would be the equivalent of moving you to the 9-12 line plan.

I don't trust t-mobile customer service at all. I ordered home internet a few weeks ago and the system duplicated my order. Contacted CS via chat and phone & eventually they promised they cancelled the duplicated order. This took hours. They still shipped the 2nd router and told me to refuse delivery which I did. Then got an email saying they are "evaluating my return". When I was chatting with a rep yesterday to try to get this offer (failed) I discovered that they were still billing me a monthly charge for the 2nd router. Supposedly got that fixed but I'll be checking my bill to be sure. Also sucks that unlike most places they don't and can't send you a transcript of the chat so I had screenshot like 6 pages.

Received SIM kit, plugged into phone and fired right up. Logged into mytmo and see the code properly reflected in my plan, which was updated from One TI 8 line to 9+ lines perfectly, all promos retained. EXCEPT for the new line...no One Plus Promo, nor Kickback are listed or selectable under line management, like they are for all other lines. I guess I have to chat back on X to get those added. Was there a limit on Kickbacks? Max $? Cheers
