The exponential speed by which pixel phones lose their value, it's not worth buying them at even 50% of list price.
Just last week, pixel 9 pro xl was selling for $600 unlocked at best buy for 128gb variant and $700 for 256gb variant. This deal gives you 256gb variant for $600 but a mandatory 1 year plan with Visible for another ~$400 plus tax on all prices.
Network coverage variations apart, approx $1000+ for 1 year of service and exponentially diminishing in value device.
Compared to that, buying $700 at best buy + say a mint annual unlimited plan for $180 =~ $880+tax
Not the best deal in my opinion. Others can of course disagree, YMMV

I wouldn't use pricing errors or even limited-time sales to support that type of claim; there are better data points that don't require getting lucky a few days or weeks a year.
For example, the Pixel 8 128GB debuted in October 2023 for $699, but the following year just a few weeks before its successor was released, a person could buy or sell a BRAND NEW Pixel 8 128GB on Swappa in the $370 to $400 range.
Those were driven by Best Buy's "Pixel 8 with $415 trade-in credit for an iPhone 11" deal, where the out-of-pocket price of that Pixel was around $110 for those lucky enough to get the deal (and willing to jump through a couple hoops to hit that price point), but the takeaway is that the AVERAGE MARKET VALUE of the phone was neither the MSRP nor the Slick price; it was about 50-60% of the original price by the time the new model was set to be released.
Pricing is only regulated for Apple, rest all OEMs don't have much leverage. Pixel depreciate far faster than Samsung. I won't consider pixel with 50% off and V+ as you're locking yourself to a network for one year.

I don't think the data support the claim that Samsungs don't depreciate as quickly. For example, the base model S24 debuted at $799 13 months ago, and now sells in mint to new condition on Swappa for a median price of around $480. That's 40% depreciation, which is similar to how much the Pixel 8's value dropped during a similar timeframe.

I would get fold if its like $600 with annual plan.
Folding phones are still fragile in terms for software as well - got a used Fold4 few months ago to try out and after 2 months Samsung did a update which broke the internal screen and charging so even wrong software update can break folding phone easily.
Any smartphone purchased from Visible will be locked for 60 days from the date the device was activated on the Visible network. Once the 60 days are up, your device will be unlocked automatically. If Visible determines that the device was lost, stolen, or purchased fraudulently, the phone will remain locked."
Can I purchase the phone, sell the year of visbile plus and purchase an alternate plan with visible to activate the phone on in order to cancel after it's unlocked? Or does the phone have to be activated on the annual plan that it's purchased with?
My point being, the best buy sale might be a glitch but it might also be a price we could see again for the same phone , given the history of pixel phones. Again, I am not arguing against this deal but just sharing a perspective.

Since the Pixel 6 or so, Google has offered $700 trade in, and 30% off for Pro models... Meaning you can get a phone for sales tax, +/-$100, every year.
So, you could say they are worthless, since Google is basically giving them away, or you could look at it as a $1000 phone every year.

Is the overall software really much better?
