Does this Roku OS have the issue where you can't turn of Motion Smoothing (soap opera effect)?

I'm glad this is on the market. Maybe we'll actually start seeing some price competition for OLEDs.

It does not. You can turn it off.

That's it! I'm done with reviews from Rtngs and other sources. They're helpful in some ways but very confusing in others. After hours of reading, pouring over the nit-noid details of dozens of TVs, I can't decide between OLED, Mini-LED, or any particular model.

I was leaning Mini-LED and I ordered the Hisense U8N, mainly because OLEDs were about 30% higher. It seemed like a good compromise and better than OLED in some areas. That said, almost every OLED ranks higher on Rtngs than the Hisense. At $899 this Phillips OLED is $50 less than the Hisense. After mulling it over, I cancelled delivery on the Hisense, and I'm going with the Phillips, fingers crossed.

The Phillips also adds Roku and a 3 yr warranty. The only thing I don't see is bluetooth for headphones anywhere. That will suck if I can't pair up some earbuds with the TV. I know I can use my phone and the Roku app, but it's nicer just to have them pair up automatically with a TV.

I've seen OLED screens, and they look really good in store, but if for some reason there is an issue, Sam's does have a 90-day return policy on TVs. I'll find a way to fit it in my RAV4 if I have to return it, hopefully, I won't. I really want the Phillps to wow me.

This probably compares to the B4 not C4

Hmm I'll be honest I've been to Best Buy plenty of times looking at the G4, Bravia 8, C4, and the Samsungs

I can't justify that this will beat the C4, but I have not found a C4 at this price range, it's close tho, like almost like it's a B4/C4 but badged as Philips with Roku, probably more a B4 cause I hate to be that guy that rates it without all the tools that the reviewers from rtings.com have, we probably won't ever see a review on this model. It's why I recommend ppl to check if they have it in store to view, or I can include some photos if you guys wish.

The Bravia 8 can be found around this price range if open box at a Bestbuy, after watching the Bravia 8 a few times the C4 beats it cause it's brighter but I liked the motion on the Bravia 8 and the clarity on older content for upscaling, for me though it's justifies that this will be more on your part of what you find visually appealing.

The Samsung Oled models I felt were top tier and had the best colors with high brightness levels but I couldn't justify that I am a Dolby fan and they don't include Dolby vision, although it did look the cleanest with its bright colors.

The reason I went with this Philip's model is cause it met the budget, definitely the Dolby Vision, the Roku OS was a must for me, which for the past few days has been super snappy os and I have no damn clue why it's not included on oled models but this is probably because of deals with companies etc.

Let me know if you guys want me to include photos

ROKU WARNING WARNING WARNING
Roku is going to add VIDEO ADS before the Roku Home page opens.
Customers already seeing them. Complaining.
The Verge and many mainstream publications reporting today.

BTW about 8 years ago in here i posted i was seeing ads before the Roku home page then it stopped. i was told it sounded far fetched.

would you mind posting pictures? my biggest thing is i also like the roku os and want a clean interface. I can't stand the other ones. I have an Apple Tv, but i dont want to deal with two remotes. I also have some bright windows to the left of the tv that makes me worried.

I am guessing it has to be closer to a B4. Which is still a good panel and this is a very good price point. Roku built in is also a bonus for me, it's my standard around the house.

I do hope rtings picks this one up. Since they've already reviewed all the other LG panels, they may be able to shed some light on what this thing really is in comparison to B4/C4.

Picked one up today. Asked cashier if they price match to website since in-store ad stated $999. They stated it depends on what kind of sale it is i.e. Instant Savings.

Item rang up for $899 as advertised on website. Set up easily and motion blur removed no problem.

Panel is really thin and instructions state not to carry horizontally.

So far, digging it.
