To the comment about bad prints from CVS and Walgreens, I used to have a similar issue, but I misidentified the problem as on their end. Back then (this was wayy back in 2009 with a 1440p Monoprice noncalibrated monitor) the monitor i used had poor color accuracy. Ever since I've been using a much, much better display that is calibrated and with a high color gamut, the pictures turn out the same as they looked on my display. So the problem may not necessarily be with CVS or Walgreens (and hey, it's free in this case Smilie.

Got one thanks. Our local Walgreens photo dept does an excellent job.
Just picked up an 8x10 from them last week, these free deals seem to be coming around close to twice a month lately. I love it.

I agree. I got the 11x14 for $2 and the quality was awful (had printer lines across the whole picture). Went and tried to get it reprinted at another store because the original was having "network issues". The other store gave me a hard time but did it and their printer was printing red dots all over the picture and they didn't know why. So basically I'm out $2 which is fine but wasted a bunch of time, just an FYI if you're printing an important photo

I have had the opposite experience at both my local Walgreens and CVS. High quality products ever time. I'm an ex-professional photographer and I use both now. Only one pro lab remains in my city. Except for the variety of paper choices, and more specialty products at the pro lab, I have no preference between the pro lab and the pharmacy labs. I don't usually order prints larger than 11x14 in prints.
