Good deal. Some talk about the Bitvae D2 brush here... I was talked into getting the Bitvae and it's extremely weak compared to my Sonicare 1100. In order to get any use from the Bitvae, I have to use it like a non-electric toothbrush and manually go back and forth.

You are correct, I thought i was the only one that noticed the difference. It is a little weaker than 4100 but more powerful than the bitvae. Bitvae feels like a phone vibrating in your pocket very weak.

Great idea! But it is definitely more than a year old. I think i just kept it on the charger the entire time and maybe like with cellphones that type of charging is bad for the battery.

I would take it with me on vacation and I would brush 2 or 3 times a day for like 10 days without a problem. But now i can barely go 5 days without it outright dying.

Yeah mine wouldn't last 2 days on a full charge, less than a year old, never kept on charger, so something was definitely wrong.

My ORIGINAL Sonicare, before there were even versions, lasted for more than a decade

With 30 seconds per surface, this thing's two minute timer is exactly what is needed.

You could certainly stop after 30 seconds total if your dentists is looking to buy a new Mercedes EV in the future and you're sufficiently enamored with them to pay for most of it. Otherwise, use the full two minutes.

I've been using Sonicare for several decades now, and in all that time, not a single cavity developed and my gums are in great shape. I also floss nightly.

I've had good luck on eBay buying some higher end Sonicare brush bodies. Came new, powerful and hold their charge. I have a black 7500 HX962K and my wife has a Flexcare HX6930. $40 and $33 respectively. Both are great. Zero complaints. Just need to have your own charging base. These are not the cheap USB models.

Sonicare recommends leaving them on the charger and, perhaps more importantly, many people have done this for years and their toothbrushes work fine. I've had mine for 5+ years and it sits on the charger constantly. Make sure to wipe it off before putting it back (to avoid charger gunk), but otherwise it won't harm your brush. People have reported 10 year old toothbrushes with week+ charges still and they've sat on the charger.

Besides that, you're weighing number of full discharges for battery wear. A toothbrush that sits on a charger will charge much more often than one only charged when dead, but those charges will be a fraction of the length of a full charge and won't appreciably wear the cells.

IMO.... Do whatever is easier. Ours live on the charger, are both 5+ years old, and last for well over a week if we take them off to go on vacation or whatever.

Try replacing the battery. It's only two solder points. Check YouTube. As long as the rubber bits are still good you can keep replacing the battery

The 1100 doesn't have the pressure sensor, which could be good for those new to Sonicare, and comes with the 4100. Newbies tend to press too hard, which defeats some of the ability to effectively clean.
But I would agree that once you're acclimated to using a Sonicare, the 1100 works just fine.
