Let's do the math. $500 for the 9 Pro XL + $300 for the 8a - $490 trade in credit. That means you got the 9 Pro XL for roughly $310 before taxes.

I am guessing ChusWisely meant that he/she will have paid only $10 more for the 9 Pro XL vs. buying this 8a outright, which matches your calculations ($300 vs. $310).

Not surprising as the Pixel 9a has leaked a bunch lately so it should be launched soon. Note: Pixel 8 Pro's are being sold for $350 on the used market.

You can also get a Razr 2024 foldable for $199 on a prepaid carrier or a Pixel 9 through Mint for less.

@deelseaker correct, I stated with the purchase of the 8a and an additional $9.63. I actually paid about $274 with a family members target discount plus target circle 5% discount. But left the discounted price of $274 out because I thought it may cause confusion for others who wanted to replicate the deal. But essentially yes you can get the Pixel Pro 9 XL for just about the same price as the Pixel 8a, by purchasing the 8a and using it as a trade in at Bestbuy.

Hello, that limited deal gave enhanced/promoted trade in values to customers.

The average trade in value for my Pixel 7a was around $70 to $90 and Best Buy upped the value another $200 plus the Pixel 9 Pro XL's price after connecting it with them dropped to around $400.

Yep, I got $260 for my old 6a I bought from Bestbuy in 2023 for $150. Usually worth around $90. Made the 9 Pro XL $139 +tax.
