The R36S was widely considered a really good budget handheld. But the longevity of it really isn't know yet as they haven't been out THAT long.
All that said, it's under $30 and mass produced in China. So, take that for what it's worth.
If it breaks in 6 months, I GUARANTEE another handheld better than this will be available for $30, and you'll like have had $30 worth of fun with it.
Edit: to note, I have dozens of handhelds, some budget similar to this, some expensive. The budget ones are all just fine for my use and I have no reason to believe they will fail.
There is also the Trimui Smart Pro for a similar price. It's a great handheld, and is 16:9 wide-screen. That makes Gameboy Advance nicer on it, but it's also slightly larger of a device.
