They're similar in size, but have slightly different use scenarios. This Mini charges without a cord in most USB-A ports. The light is held by a strong magnet that detaches and automatically turns on with a tug from the other half. So, the light unit itself is very small compared to the i1R2. You also want to reattach it after use so you don't lose it. The charging portion has exposed contacts, so a silicone sleeve is included. You slip it off when you need to charge again. Best uses for me include attaching it as a zipper pull on travel clothing for nightly walks, hanging it inside my camera bag, or attached to the key ring inside my laptop case. They're really handy even though I always have an i1R2 Pro attached on my car keys.

I have few of this and I must be clumsy or something but once in awhile I look down and the flashlight part fell off.

EDC literally is an acronym for "EveryDay Carry" It refers to its portability - not length of use. Even AA or AAA lights don't last all day especially when used in their highest mode. You'd be lucky to get an hour or two. EDCs are meant to be always on you when you need a useful light in a pinch. Keychain lights like this one are just for quick lighting while other pocketable with clip ones can provide a slightly longer run time for sustained lighting.

All USB A is 5V
Well any one of the blue usb ports or the ones labeled IQ.. I thought that those are able to put out more than 5V.. Either way none of those worked.

This post should be posted by Olight employee again. Never seen any post on Slickdeals has that many like and dislike. Especially on the ones has different opinions. So this is not a deal at all, just their own marketing strategy!!

I don't see why people carry a keychain flashlight that isn't brighter than their phone light.
Because dropping your phone is worse than dropping a flashlight that's as light as a key?

My 11yr old has a camping trip with her 5th grade coming up and she needs a flashlight
Is this too strong for kid use, dont want her playing with it and blinding kids but also need good visibility
Not too strong at all. Not a good light for camping unless it's a backup used to find a main light as this has only one brightness and less than an hour run time. When camping, a flashlight with a cob light (side) is very handy to illuminat a tent/room. This is the same price and much more versatile for camping. [amazon.com]

I have a couple of the rechargeable O-light flashlights of this size and they don't last long at all. EDC to me means a full day at work, not just a few seconds here and there.

I'm still a huge fan of their AAA-powered lights. Just keep a backup battery or two in the pack and you're good to go. They're also good if you don't have a headlamp, since they can be held between lips while working in a pinch, when you need both hands to work.
This sounds like a guy who buys a Happy Meal then tells everyone it didn't solve any problems.

I got a couple of these. Pretty handy. It is magnetic and when you pull it off the keychain you can put it on another surface for a mini spot light. Only thing I am not sure how long the usb charging will hold up. But for $10 its worth it.

I'm wary of this flashlight's durability. How strong is the magnet holding the parts together, so how easy would it be to lose either end? How strong is the USB connector? If I actually put it on my keychain would it get bent or broken easily? Would be great to hear people's actual experiences with the thing

This light is awesome if you need something bright and quick. I wish I could carry it on my keys but the strong magnet causes other tools on my keyring to annoyingly stick to it, so it's hanging off of a ring on my tool bag.

I have one of these and you can't go wrong for $10. That said, anyone know if they have a similar light with USB C?
