I'm poor, I've always been poor and always will be poor. My first 3 cats lived to 19, 16 and then 17. My shelter adopted kitty now (adopted at 14) just turned 20 in September. I've fed them ALL Friskies with no issues and good health. First kitty got FLUTD so I started pureeing the stuff with additional water. He almost hit 20 but not quite.

Water as the first ingredient. Then shortly after comes stuff like wheat gluten, meat byproducts, and soy flour. Part of any cat's complete diet, no doubt.

my cat loves these. my vet says these are mcdonalds for cats ... not good not bad. hay, we only live 1 life... enjoy it while you can.

I feed my cats 3-4 time a week. rest of the time its dry food.

My somewhat rudimentary research [reddit.com] suggests that Friskies is the most consistently low-cost acceptable food available. Purina, the brand behind Friskies, is also WSAVA [wsava.org](World Small Animal Veterinary Association) compliant. This means that Purina adheres to standards and practices that ensure its food is nutritionally adequate and backed by research. That said, Friskies is undoubtedly the bottom tier of Purina's product line.

Overall, there are much better options out there, but if Friskies is all you can afford at the moment, it's perfectly acceptable. It's more than sufficient for feeding stray or feral cats. Personally, I wouldn't feed Friskies to my own cat since, fortunately, I can afford better quality food. However, when money is tight, Friskies gets the job done.

OK Price. $25.67 April of 2024 $25.48 this time around. Usually on sale this price ever few months. I know cause I only buy it when it's on sale. I use 1 can in 2 days so I get 80 Days for the 40 pack. I usually never run out.

This is 12 cans and is 6.68 after the discount. 40 cans at this price would be $22.25. But, you couldn't get the deal on 4 packs....

Honestly , I think that these fancy brands are nothing but the attempts to overcharge us. What would be almost OK. However, they are try to deprive our cats.
I am not sure that it's OK.
