Was just playing with this tablet at Costco.
I can't believe Samsung is putting such a crappy device on the market.

It's a terrible performing device for anyone.

this thing is slow.
get a base ipad instead if you just need basic tablet stuff.
Base iPad is too slow for web browsing (poor multitasking) and you can only use a single browser. Horrible experience for video watching too especially with file management. You can get two of these for the price of a single base iPad.

My account shows 219 for 8GB and 169 for 4GB
Mine did, too. But when I added it to my cart and went to checkout, it showed $144 for the 8GB model.

most tablet users don't multitask, and basically watch youtube and browse the web.

base ipad is perfect for that. this thing struggles loading youtube

My account showed $144, I went with it. Later on I also saw a cashback deal from the orange extension for $39.99 back
Could you share the first and last 3 characters of the extension name ? Never know of the orange one, only know the purple.

Just picked it up from Best Buy (pick up option vs shipping) The 8GB ram definitely runs smoother than the 4GB and this price point it's the perfect kitchen tablet to stream Chopped or read recipes.

Recently moved from iPad to this.

it is better. Youtube is better. Instagram has an actual tablet mode. The book cover is way better than the smartfolio.

And mine is not even the 8gb version, it is the 4gb. After modding/tweaking it is flawless

I'm learning a lot about the type of people who use slickdeals and their needs of cheap junk.
I love my cheap junk but having a job to buy it is more important.

I own 2 of these tablets, 128gb storage 8gb ram. Not the worst out there, but I would not recommend them unless you can stack cashback and discounts/coupons and get them for a cheaper price.
I got mine for 130ish each last year and would never pay more than that. Its a budget tablet and it performs like one. Its a good tablet for basic usage, like browsing, youtube and light apps. Don't buy it for gaming or retro emulation.

As far as a deal... this is it. With 8GB and a SD695, it is the slowest you want to go and still have a decent Android experience.
This tablet is on par with the G99 (same speed as the SD695) Chinese tablets and is also on par with price. And having updates is a big deal with Android so I say it is a deal.
This tablet can do almost everything... just not that well. Games will not be able to be played at the highest settings but they will play.
My only app recommendation is to download the app... "killapps" and run it every time you start your tablet. I have this app on every one of my devices and find it helps. Also, try not to keep to many internet tabs and apps opened at the same time. I like using a very good add blocker, I use ublock origion which just got banned from the google store with Kiwi browser.
There was some talk above about the ipad mini... if you want the 8.4" form factor I would suggest getting the iplay 60 mini turbo by alldocube... sells for about 140ish on aliexpress. It has a IPS panel vs the A9+ TFT panel, it has usb 3.1 (that does HDMI out, BIG DEAL) vs the A9+ usb 2.0 and the iplay has a snapdragon 6 gen 1 CPU/GPU which is like 30% faster, both have 8GB of RAM and 128GB hard drive and micro SD slot. I personally prefer the 8.4" form factor and have the iplay 60 mini turbo and love it. I also have Tab S9 (gave to my kid) and a Chromebook Lenovo Duet 5 but it only has 4GB, so I use killapps on this device all the time. And with my Chromebook I sideload ublock origin and use it with Chrome.

That CPU is anemic. Ancient. Its not even an SD 855, and that is super old.
