If you need one for a smart device or laptop that requires high availability, sure.
But with how everything shifted to USB charging and the easy availability of adapters, there's still tons of use for these in various projects. Any device that takes AA or AAA batteries can use them with a converter for extra endurance.
They're also cheap enough to not have to worry about lending them out to visiting friends.
Throw them on a trickle charger and they're happy to be left alone for months in case of emergency.

Perhaps, but for four dollars more you can get a 30W unit with a built in USB-C cable, that has newer cells and better temp protection. And still has a Type-A and Type-C port in addition to the integrated cable.
Even for older devices, I would go with Zolo/INIU/Baseus $12 bricks for the flexibility to use on modern devices jointly.
I expect these will fall to 2-for-$10 territory this year, before they finally exit the supply chain.

Naturally, paying more gets you more features.
This $8 each isn't terrible for this style of battery. And it does have USB-C, even if it isn't PD.

My original points still stand. I would rather have several battery banks that work for any situation than these laying around for whatever random reason that people come up with to justify spending money on them... like, "lending them to visiting friends" lol.
I could care less what other people buy for their own reasons. If you can justify it, good on you. I don't understand it based on the logic that I see as most valid but I also don't need to understand why you spend your money on something.

Deal is live again even though SD hasn't updated expired status yet.
Far better deal in my opinion. And exactly where I said the price was headed.
Update: Six hours later the coupon has expired again.

One star review with power meter claims it can only charge an iPhone 16 Pro Max three times. Be warned.
Also it can't go on aircraft, since stated capacity exceeds 160 Wh.
Wanted to buy one for road trips, but the reviews scared me off. Thanks for sharing though.
