This G sheet does a pretty good job of showing what each handheld can emulate and alternative options https://docs.google.com/spreadshe...sp=sharing

I had the 405M (model before this) and it could play up to (some) PS2 games. This is suppose to be able to play a fair amount of PS2/Gamecube and I believe will do some Wii as well. Not quite as powerful as the Retroid Pocket 5 though, so if you want a one stop shop handheld for those systems, and are ok with a 16:9 screen, I would go with that instead (but it is about $100 more than this sale price). This should be a great 4:3 option though, especially with the issues the retroid 4:3 mini has had.

I have this, just FYI, if you plan on getting it for ps2 which is what I did, some of the ps2 games get drastic slowdowns at times. I would say playable but not smooth.

Unless you need portability, I would highly recommend picking up a second hand or returb steam deck. I get that it's a step up in price, but it's such a better experience than these little handhelds. I do love my Miyoo Mini+ though

I have never purchased from AliExpress. I have tried to purchase several times, and although the coupons are advertised on the main page and the requirements are met, they are never accepted.
Yeah, I don't know why, but for whatever reason it seems to be difficult to execute coupons on AliExpress for some reason. I always have trouble and I don't know if others seem to have the same thing or if it's just me.

It seems like the very low end $15-$45 devices do up to PS1 and most arcades great. It takes > $200 to do PS2/GC.

What are the advantages of the in-betweeners, like this product? A few GC or PS2 games?

It's tempting to step up from an RG40XX to this with the added power, cooling, screen etc, but then again I have no immediate need. Waiting for the next generation chipsets for hopefully even better GC/PS2 performance.

This is basically the only higher end device with a good 4:3 screen. Everything else is basically 16:9. So, it fills that niche, plus it has good ergonomics. If you mainly care about 16:9 emulation, then there's no reason to get this.

It can play up to 80% of ps2 games for cheap.

This or rg cube? I just ordered the cube and curious if I should return it and go for something else

Kind of like the "smaller" form factor

that's exactly why I bought 40xxh for now and will wait for next generation of chipset to upgrade

I love all these gadgets so much, but since getting my steamdeck, I have ruined them all for me. Frown

I wouldn't expect any sub $200 device to emulate ps2 decently. I have the Lenovo handheld that was $700 but I haven't even tried ps2 on it yet. I do love the anbernic that looks exactly like the original game boy advance. Just came out a few minutes months ago. I'm not worried about playing anything after 1996 on it tho. $65
Why don't you think any sub $200 handheld could play PS2 games? Lol
