Forgive me if I'm misunderstanding, but since I own the Plex pass, and I am sharing my server to friends and family, they would be unaffected correct? Or would only those in my Plex home be unaffected?
As long as you are either paying for Plex Pass or have a lifetime subscription, anyone you share with is unaffected and does not need a subscription from what I can tell.

Why are there two plex posts?

I shared it to PSA, then someone made a thread in Hot Deals with different wording saying it was a deal to buy it before the price goes up. 95% of the time they'd be merged, but how they worded it and the fact that it's doing well there the mods decided to keep them separate.

Is there any use for Plex if your not running a server or a homebrew DVR? I have lifetime pass but haven't had a server up in years.

They added an aggregate feature for streaming services that works moderately well.

You add all your streaming accounts to their interface and it tries to give you a one stop shop experience.

Why is there another post on this? Because STAFF posted it?

Is there a different software you're using for DVR? It's the main reason I bought plex pass like 4 years ago but imo it's kind of clunky.
No, I'm just dealing with Plex and it is clunky and hasn't changed or improved for a long time.

They are in different forums. This one posted by staff was first, but the newer one in Hot Deals got more attention as a "deal". I think they'd more likely have been combined if Eragorn wasn't going to get all the credit Grin

At these prices, it's MUCH better to get Jellyfin and buy Infuse Pro lifetime!
You peaked my interest in Infuse Pro lifetime. Does it only work on Apple products?

I want to love infuse, but thank goodness I tried a subscription with a coupon code before buying the lifetime. I love Infuse on my Apple TV in my home, but I cannot get it to work outside of my home. Meanwhile, I'm able to stream remotely with Plex's app just fine

What do you mean you can't get it to work outside your home? It interfaces with Plex rofl. If plex is working, Infuse works.

ROFL, you have no idea what you're talking about bro. Do you think I'm making this up or something? Infuse works on my Apple TV on my home network, and it works on my iPhone so long as I am connected to my WiFi at home. If I am not on my home network, I get an error message. I have sought out help from Infuse support about it, and they were less than helpful. This is the message I get, word for word:

Relay Connection Active:
Please check your network settings and ensure the local (or non-relay remote) connection to your Plex media server is working.

Meanwhile, as I said before, my actual Plex app works from anywhere.

I moved to Jellyfin and then back to Plex, Plex is just all around way more polished and super easy to deploy on proxmox with hardware passthrough. Easy worth the $250 they are asking for life time.
