I love my Grams, but damn they know how to charge the same price for last-gen processors, don't they? (It's the touchscreen, 32GB, and 2TB storage; I know.)

Kind of been eyeballing these LG grams for at walmart for 400$ less get a i7-1360p and just a quick search on userbenchmark overall speed is quite comparable. looks like they were only roughly 6month difference in release dates to.

thoughts?

You're absolutely right - not worth a $400 difference. Maybe $30-$50 max. Much better off saving the $400.

The walmart one (https://www.walmart.com/ip/LG-gra...5113175667) has 16GB ram and 512GB SSD compared to 32GB and 2TB in this model. Not a fair comparison.

valid point, you're right not a super fair comparison but for the average user most probably wont notice much difference and ram/hdd are fairly reasonable and ugpradeable.

Intel Core Ultra 7 155H may be a gen behind but it still should run cooler and have longer battery life than i7-1360p from what I've seen. Still, $400 is a big difference.

LG Gram is perfect if you are in an IT field. IMO they're better than any Dell, Lenovo, HP, Intel Windows laptops for this price point.

I have the Walmart 1360p model - got it from Costco for that same $700 price a year ago. It's a great all-purpose productivity machine. Can even do some old school gaming/emulation. SM64/OOT on retroarch with 4k texture packs actually runs great. Paired with an 8bitdo wireless controller. Who needs AAA games

I'm in a similar boat - I think once a current-gen mid or high-end laptop processor goes on a good enough sale I might just set sail and never look back. So much can be done on iGPUs now.

listed as LP ram, doesn't that mean it's soldered? Not to say it's not upgradable, just more difficult.

Depends on your use case. If you are mainly using web applications/teams/office type stuff - spreadsheets/word docs/ppt. And want thin/light with good battery life, this is a great choice. If you're going to just keep it plugged in and "docked" (using an external monitor/keyboard/mouse) most of the time and don't care about weight - there are better choices. And if course, if you want modern gaming, this ain't it.

I also have a surface laptop 5, a surface laptop studio, and several macbooks. The LG gram is my personal "around the house" lightweight browser/do family finances/etc. machine.

Have 2 LG grams. Very pleased with low weight (2.7 lbs) and battery life. I carry with me one of them when traveling in USA or International.

Also not a touchscreen, which may be a dealbreaker for some.
