I've got 2 and they work really well for the scanning and searching. In theory, this should be my perfect bridge between writing and a digital device but I don't use it as much as I should and there's really no reason for why I don't.

Same, I bought an older version many years ago that left hand spiral style, invested in some of their pens, got the app, tied it to my google. thought this was gonna change my life, used it for a couple of days - and it did everything it said it would do, clear files, organized things pretty good if you use the icons at the bottom of the pages, etc. But after about a week I just stopped using it and never used it again lol. I think it's just hard to break habits and commit to something like this for whatever reason. Easier just to grab a piece of paper and write shit down I guess and stick it on the fridge 😂

I've got 2 and they work really well for the scanning and searching. In theory, this should be my perfect bridge between writing and a digital device but I don't use it as much as I should and there's really no reason for why I don't.

Fair price for what it is, but you still need to scan with your phone... Google Drive, for example, will do this for free. Just need to supply the paper (or white board, if you want something reusable)

I've never used google drive for this. Are you able to search your handwritten notes with it like the rocket book?

I've used the left hand spiral for a while. It's a cool concept and works fairly well. My issue was that the pens write very "gel" like and I don't enjoy that. Also the pages would have indentations on them from previous use once cleaned, then the pen would have problems writing on them. YMMV

If you think you can write notes and have them digitized, this isn't it. The ocr is horrible.

Do not recommend, tried these a couple of years ago and as you use it, it gets oily as use your fingers to flip and the pen just skids over such areas.. tried to clean it but couldn't find a good trick to completely eliminate it this problem

You can buy pens separately, but it is toooo much work to clean the pages, so I stop using it

I love the idea behind it but it feels bad to write on and gets worse as you use it, and wiping it off actually takes a bit of effort over 36 pages, especially if you use the edges near the spiral binding and corners. Also their app was worse than just using the native camera/gallery app since they all have OCR anyway.

Edit: Actually I forgot they make Frixion markers which would probably improve the experience vastly over the included ballpoint, which all but destroys the pages upon the first use.

Got two a couple years ago, I've probably used them less than 15 times. They don't seem to be fully erasable, as the pens seem to leave residue even after the page is wiped down with water. Even for $14, I can't really recommend it over a simple composition notebook with a pen.

As others have said, it also doesn't feel satisfying to use and write on.

To each their own though.

Yes, see below for an example from someone using a Remarkable. All you need to do is open with Google Docs

results may vary. As with most OCR, the quality of handwriting will weigh heavily into the legibility. but I imagine Google's software should be on par with the Rocket Book app.
