I'm curious what other $700 you're comparing this to, to say it's only got $700 worth of performance. I don't claim to be a subwoofer guru but this would stomp a mud hole in my more expensive SVS.

also, if this really were a $1400 sub like klipsch priced it, it should really have an XLR input. it does not. and that really surprised me. i think that if you're slapping word like "reference" in the name and pricing it in the 4 digit category, you should have XLR.

you have to be on crack to think this is worth anywhere near the claimed $1400 MSRP. this is a $700 sub being sold at the price it's worth, $700

If you just want loud bass in volume sure this isn't bad, but SVS will sound better.
I almost bought the SVS PB-2000 Pro to pair with my existing PB-2000, but for a few hundred bucks more I got 2 of these, and that was a much better purchase. The SVS got demoted from theater to guest bedroom sub.

If you just want loud bass in volume sure this isn't bad, but SVS will sound better.
And no, I highly doubt it. I have an RP-1600SW, which yes, is just one step up from the 14000, but it absolutely shames my SVS. It's not even close.
