I have both the open and closed versions and they are absolutely fantastic for this price. I really don't think you can beat them.
I think the opens sound a bit better but the closed are great as well.
I don't know, man. What kind of headphones did you have before? I've tried both open and closed-back variants, and I was disappointed. They were too bass-heavy, very muffled, and sounded distorted. I compared them to my HyperX Cloud 2 and BlackSharks.

Now if they had a sale like this for the sennheiser variants... I'd get for sure
Using both the open and closed with a Schiit Gunnr DAC/Amp, and I love them both. On the XBOX with Dolby Atmos for Headphones, these can't be beat for the price.
What model? I have an X1 that's USB powered and have no problems
I have PC38X.
I thought it was interference from other parts so I got a Dac and while the sound q is much better the underlying humming static is always there.

I've had several headsets and yes these are bass heavy n muddy to a degree. If you want an in betweener that's just as comfortable... I'd try the beyerdynamic mmx 100-300, arctis nova 7, razer blackshark v2 pro, or the logitech g pro-x.

I have a Soundblaster Dac and it still gets that like it's background noise or whatever.
