WTF? who is giving away their Keurigs???
My local grocery sells kcups at $1.28 per kcup on sale. My current Keurig machine was thrifted nearly new and barely used.
There maybe a connection between price per cup of coffee and the quality of of that cup of coffee. Some people might have just chosen a less convenient but equal or better in taste and certainly cheaper than $1.28 per cup of coffee. And dumped their Keurig machine.
There were people in my house that would run used kcups through a second brew. They never seemed to clean out the mess but it was cheaper in their minds.

I never ever pay that much for a Kcup. that's ludicrous to pay that much. I usualy pay under 30 cents per cup and even go in the teens on deals. It's even cheaper to just use coffee grounds in a reusable K-cup.
