What's the deal with TP-Link Routers now. Have they been patched/fixed to make them safe or not?

I'm not sure it was ever proven that they were "unsafe" in the first place. Has seemed mostly political so far.

Lowest price ever for NEW on this item. Its extremely well reviewed by multiple outlets. Overall a solid pickup if you dont listen to the uneducated parrots that keep repeating the fake news. Hard to find a triband Wifi 6E router for this price. That being said if your not on a budget you can get a AXE Mesh for larger homes for about $70 more so decide what you need, but in most cases its better to go with a single device than a mesh if you dont have a large area to cover.

It was never about safety, same vulnerabilities that affect this brand affect all other brands (asus, linksys, netgear), but they just have way more sold routers so people make a bigger fuss when something hits them.

The other fake news is the incoming ban thats been incoming now for over 3 years and still not happening, not because they are unsafe, but because TP-Link sells them for too cheap so their competitors whine.

All political fluff, and some investors in other brands hoping to eliminate a competitor so they can keep raising prices on their stuff.

The way you worded your statement is that you seem to be %100 sure of everything... nothing spies on you, not one thing... your data is never sold or viewed anywhere else. It's all fake news and 'conspiracy theories'... but the problem with 'conspiracy theories' is that many of those have been proven true.

Huawei, Nuctech, and many others (all chinese) are banned and sanctioned in dozens of countries because of spying or other security risks. Chinese ai 'deepseek' is rapidly on its way to joining that list...

I suppose those are all conspiracy theories too... even though the European governments that have banned those products would tell you otherwise.

TP-Link may or may not be joining that list soon and for that same very reason, but for you to sit there and ridicule people for doubt, well, that is just poor behavior and is very typical of someone with a liberal hivemind.

I've had this for a year. Been happy with it. Reliable, good range. Have 1.2gb fiber and getting around 800-900 Mbps wifi.

I bought the one that has Wi-Fi 7 and 4x 2.5Gbps ports for 200 bucks looks like a Tron ship or a tall building with vertical LED lights in the middle. Much better than this one in my opinion. I also own this one as well on my other home but I don't like this one much. Paid 200 a couple of years ago. Back them it was a good deal.

An unreported global IoT botnet campaign targeting TP-Link Archer routers has emerged. The botnet exploits a remote code execution (RCE) vulnerability in TP-Link Archer routers (CVE-2023-1389) to spread itself automatically over the Internet. Specifically, the AX21 model (aka AX1800 model; a firmware update can be found here) to spread itself automatically over the Internet. TP-Link products have made headlines recently, as The Wall Street Journal reported in December 2024 that U.S. government agencies have considered banning TP-Link devices due to security concerns linked to China.

WoW expensive you can get whole mesh systems for less than this price.

Also how shall we say the US will likely come down hard on this chinese spy company in the next few years like they did to Huawei and ZTE who stole all their tech from Nortel and bankrupted that company. Tplink just doesn't update their firmware after a few months and allows rampant attacks on their routers. They are cheap for a reason.

Lol, actually I came to term that im already fully spied on by my own government so I could care less about another government doing it. Im more worried about my own government than a foreign entity as has been proven by Snowden and the many whistle blowers who got punished for protecting the constitution and liberty.

You know why I know that TP-Link is not joining the banned list anytime soon, many new military instillations use their products and they will not be replacing them anytime soon. Military equipment in the field use their parts, also not going to get replacements. Also the ban threat again is NOT FOR SPYING if you read my comments properly and its not for VULNERABILITIES, it would be for price competition lol.

Liberal hivemind, talk about being off by mile...
