My kid loved two things about it: the freedom of the kids and the adventure/thrill of them being in real danger
The 80s were the last age of free range kids. Riding around town on your bike at all hours of the day were typical in suburbs. Nowadays, parents would get called out on social media (unfortunately). Strangely, we still had better manners even though we were feral. The nostalgia of Goonies is what makes it special. It's not a particularly well acted or deep movie, but it harkens to a simpler time for kids

What do you guys think about Goonies and how it holds up today?I remember watching it as a kid in the 80s and liking it.. I tried watching it with my kids the other day and the first 20-25 min were pretty slow and boring so we turned it off.
If your kids can't sit through the first 'slow and boring' 20 minutes of any movie, I have bad news

Goonies is a classic - I have this set that allegedly came with a digital code... those expire sadly and I found out too late.

Always try the codes anyways. Even if they're old, sometimes they work.

My kids (now 8, 8, & 10, but were younger when we first watched it) enjoy it, same with The Sandlot.

It's a WB code. Those actually expire. Same thing happened with my copy of the Goonies.

Unfortunately this isn't a good transfer, with no audio upgrade. Yes technically it is better than the BR on video side. https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Th...ay/264029/

-So... this is the best version available then, yes?
