The first book was published with the name misspelled, I believe, which is the origin of the confusion over the title.

I've read this dozens of times to my kids. There is an issue insofar in some of the earlier ones the dad is completely incompetent. I don't love that about them but it is very good otherwise.

I've seen that as well but noticed it a lot of the newer ones that are under their son's name. The way we see it in our family is; if it's Stan and Jan it's okay. If it's Mike we skip it.
