If the browser tabs are using 100 MB of memory each, which seems to be the average, then nah.

There are 48 GB DIMMs for 96 GB in two slots, and hopefully we see 64 GB DIMMs this year which are long overdue.

Great capacity (64GB) and great timing RAM for 9800X3D (or any other AM5 CPUs). With some tweaks and pumping up the voltage, you can easily OC this RAM to 6400Mhz and CL28.
$175 is a great deal

I got a similar set to this, most of the model number matches, all the same specs, but white. Also no issues of any kind in an Asrock Steel Legend b850, even though not on the memory list at the time (figured they'd work, same model number with the only difference being the capacity number in it was on the list). Expo settings detected, over a month, perfect. Haven't done tweaking yet, probably swap the wraith cooler before I fiddle much. I got them for close to this price with Newegg bundle/combo savings.

I'm building my first PC now. I have a couple questions if someone can answer them for me.

1) I heard that if I actually want to run sticks at advertised speeds, I have to get sticks with higher advertised speeds. For example, if I want to run sticks at 6000mhz, I should instead get sticks that are tested up to 6400mhz. Is this the way to go? Or should I expect that I'll actually be able to run 6000mhz sticks at 6000mhz?

2) I was leaning toward going for 96gbs (2x48gb). Is the larger capacity going to make it harder to run at 6000, even if it's being advertised at 6000?

1 no that is silly. It is up the imc on your cpu that decides how fast the ram can run assuming u have Hynix die

2. No 2x48 Hynix m die is actually easier on the imc than 2x32 Hynix a die

In the time it took you to read this comment, this RAM could have completed two internets. Look it up. Spec sheet is in the post.

Solid deal for modern RAM from a reputable manufacturer.

That's... not how RAM works.

Just because it says it's geared toward Intel XMP doesn't mean you can't use it in a system without XMP.

As long as your motherboard can support one of the clock speeds it's rated for, it will clock down without any fuss.

this is just marketing. RAM doesnt care about CPU brand.

Hi, I always keep hearing that using AMD cpus require ram with very specific cas latency and timing to make the PC stable or else it has issues.

Is that true or are things much better nowadays?
