62 days passed and the phone is still unlocked.
Does the unlock have to be done manually or is it automatic?
I know for iPhones the unlock is usually automatic.

Thanks.
As per the phone, is there anything to be done on the phone manually to unlock it? Or does the signal automatically come through wifi and unlocks the phone?

When connected to Wi-Fi, there is no notification that it is unlocked, and if you look at the settings, it just says unlocked.

It is unlocked automatically.

You can go here and check out the TF plans: https://www.tracfone.com/phone-service-plans
The cheapest is the $15/month for 30 days of service, Unlimited Talk/text, 1GB per month. TF plans are for people who don't use much data. If you do a lot of streaming, TF is not a good choice.
So the inital 1 month plan comes with purchase, the 2nd moth can you add a $15 plan and unlock the device after 60days? I'm not planning on using this phone, just keep it in drawer so dont really care about how much data etc just need the damn thing to be unlocked so I can sell sell and sell.

Let's know if somebody finds a cheaper plans for the 2nd month to complete the 60 days to unlock the phone. what a debacle. it will be hard to flip this phone for over $125. unless the tariff war jack the phone prices through the roof in next few months.

Why would Verizon store take it back?
You didn't buy it from them - you bought it from Total Wireless, they aren't the same.

Anyone know if these phones bought from Total Wireless, when unlocked actually work with T-Mobile network?

I know that's been an issue with branded phones from carriers only unlocking for use on original network - in this case Verizon.

Appreciated if someone could confirm works with any T-Mobile MVNO network SIM.

I did not use it for long but unlocked one last year and it worked fine with regular T-Mobile back then. 5GUC no problem.

Only AT&T and their MVNOs don't accept some phones sold by TW, TF, ST, etc. T-Mobile and their MVNOs accept them all.
