You might be right. I have a bottle of this and it doesn't have that tingle feeling whatsoever like they used to. Second bottle I've had like that.

Same. But if so, it'd be the best deal on this in over 5 years!

Can you get two shampoos for this price? Conditioner is useless for me.

JCP had this deal 5 years ago! I remember that deal for $13 a bottle. Good shampoo for price though

Product is not the same as it used to. Company changed the formula and removed all the good essential oils

Eh maybe it's batch by batch? I just used some of the shampoo on my beard(no more itchy's) and it still has the same ole tingle I remember.

You guys may have luck with your local beauty supply shops. Some require memberships/cosmo licenses, some may not.

My coworker does hair on the side and is able to get me a gallon of PM tea tree for $60. I aways toss her a nice tip to make it worth her while, and still come out way below retail sales.

If you happen to get your hair done at a place where they don't push products (or they do, but you've got rapport), talk to your stylist. It's worth a shot if you enjoy this product.

I noticed the branding went from Paul Mitchell to just tea tree essentials or something like that. So I think there could definitely be something up with a formula change.

However, I've been using this stuff since my sports clips days in early 2010's- the tingle is like any good thing- you eventually build a tolerance.

I personally haven't felt that tingle in many many years. Chasing the dragon- but it smells good!

Ditto the "they don't make it like they use to" comments -- my mom used this in the late 80s and my brother and I would sometimes try to borrow it from her, you know, just to test it out. No guy in that era would admit to making efforts toward personal care Smilie

But around the time all them changed knockoffs started up in the early 2000s, all them changed. On the plus side, this is cheaper than it was 30 years ago...

Been using the generic as my hair becomes greasy after just one day and the generic was the only thing recommended. Will the name brand be any different? Confused af

I've used the trader Joe's tea tree shampoo and have enjoyed it (including the tingling scalp sensation and nice scent); how does this compare?
Theirs is about $3/16oz bottle

The color treated version never goes on sale. Anyone know an alternative?

My parents have the TJ version and I have this one, so I use them both regularly. I definitely prefer this one, even though I agree with other comments that it's not as good as it once was.
