This is a pintail longboard. That's pretty much how they were originally designed. It's not really a kicktail in the sense of tic-tacing or popping. Just something to help pick up the board. It's a 44" deck, so mounting the trucks further towards the ends, you'd end up with a super long wheelbase that wouldn't turn well even with the RKPs.

Personally, I find my 36" longboard with 21.5" wheelbase to already be as big as I want for a cruiser style longboard. But, I'd super recommend anyone considering trying it to just get it and have fun. You can sell it for $15 in a couple minutes after you want something different. There's little reason not to buy it. The biggest issue I see are the 85a durometer wheels that are harder than standard for this type of board. For rough roads, you'd probably want to switch them out for 75-81a wheels. For smooth concrete, the 85a will be great.

It would be hard to be a bad deal for $25. Nothing wrong with ABEC-7s and 70mm urethane wheels on a maple deck. Likely will carve OK and would be a fun first board for someone looking to go sidewalk surfing. Reviews appear to say it's OK.

If the tail was half as long then it would actually be usable. And the front is too long too. Yeah you need some room for your hand but it's excessive.

While I'm with you in personal preference, pintails are a classic style of longboards that some people really like, and this one is well within that typical style. Some people want an agile carver with less overhang, and some people want to feel like they are on a massive board.

At this price, cutting off the nose or extending the wheelbase would be totally acceptable. It would also work with something like the Waterborne surskate adapter it the trucks were pushed out more towards the ends.

Why do you need the giant overhang at the back end if you can't put any weight on it without it being unsafe? It's so big you can't even kick up the board effectively. No reason to have it be that long other than style.

This board is good if you just want a style board. But if you want one, that's actually good for skating and using then look elsewhere.

Right, as I pointed out twice before, it's the style that some prefer. No need to be an elitist. It would be a cool skate for $25 if someone wants the classic style. The wheelbase and truck geometry have way more to do with the ride than the deck. It will ride very similar to most longboards with that wheelbase and those trucks.

Oddly the site doesn't even say. Probably around 26-28", but that's just a guess. This style of board with the trucks mounted more towards the nose and tail usually have wheelbases around 32-34".
