Ryobi compact and regular size glue gun is $40 after hack. Making each tool $20 each and sell other for $30 if you don't need it.

Hoto is garbage brand and recently been a target for promotion by SD staff.

You're telling me. I use hot glue about 100x more than I used to ever since getting a Ryobi ONE+ cordless gun
So many uses. Around the house stuff but also a helping hand in general construction uses.

I've got the little one that comes off of the base and the larger one. Not the dual temp though, never found a good enough deal on it.

  1. I didn't know there were glue gun designs out there that looked this cool.
  2. I'm seeing HOTO everywhere these days. I'm out of the loop. Where did these guys come from?
It's pretty safe to assume that any brand that's just an all capital combination of letters is just a drop shipper selling cheap stuff from AliExpress. It's much easier to get a trademark on a random group of letters. Some other guy here said this hand was also sold in Costco so I can't say for sure, but this style is also on AliExpress.

All sorts of projects. A few recent examples:
- Home made air purifies that are mostly held together with hot glue
- toe kick on my IKEA kitchen cabinets kept falling off so I secured it with a little bit
- Recently ran an led strip across the inside of a book case and used a dab of glue to hold the connection points up against the ceiling of the book case
- had to make a quick jig for marking 1x2 posts for a garden project and slapped it together with hot glue instead of brad nails or something similar
- Ran an extension cord up to our mantle so we could plug in little seasonal LED signs on the fireplace and secured the white cord to the (painted) white mortar lines in the fireplace with a dab of glue every foot or so.

It's so useful!

They do have a good return service. Can be slow and challenging, but there's no longer a loss risk.
There are stories of people getting scammed on AE. Basically, seller would send fake or incorrect FedEx tracking as proof of delivery. Tracking does not show your delivery address but only city and state and AE will side with seller 99% of the time. You have to go through a lengthy arbitration process where AE is a middle man unlike Amazon or other US retailers.

From personal experience, that Ryobi glue gun is trash.

I just looked to see of HOTO was on Costco based on that comment you're referring to. And to my surprise, a few of their products are listed on Costco's website. A decent litmus test to see if they're worth trying.

I believe this is a brand that became popular in China because they build mediocre tools with very nice modern designs. You're mainly paying for the nicer look of the tool.
Enlighten me, is this where i buy each glue gun and it comes with the free battery each then return just the batteries? Or what

Been buying for years from AE and never had a problem. I also only buy electronics components like lithium pillow batteries and industrial electrical connectors for the batteries in my riding lawn mower

You can also get an adapter to use it with other brand batteries
