This is a no brainer for anyone who's in the Apple ecosystem and enjoys Studio Ghibli movies.

However, I just bought it and can only access English audio and English subtitles. I was hoping for the original Japanese audio, but at least the English dubs are done very well.
Did not realize this before I bought it, no Japanese audio track available through the Apple TV app on my iPhone.

Although, there is a section on the movie homepage that says "iTunes Extras Original Japanese language version with English subtitles".

The only issue is, I can't figure out how to actually get to it, cause when I click that thumbnail it just resumes the English version for me.

EDIT: I did check the actual iTunes app on my Windows PC, and it does indeed launch an "Extras" version with Japanese audio and English subtitles. So even if you have a Windows device you can at least access the Japanese version by downloading iTunes for Windows.

I wonder if maybe you need an iTunes app on your Apple device as well to access it, rather than Apple TV, which is a really odd oversight.

There's also quite a bit of judder when panning, but I'm not sure if that's the nature of the source material or an issue with my display, although I'm set to 120hz, which is a multiple of both 24fps and 30fps. If I ever have a chance to watch it on a decent TV I'll update whether there's a difference.

^^I heard the Japanese audio versions are included as an extra if you have an Apple device. (Extras are not accessible through the Apple app on Roku and the like.)
This is why I bought an Apple TV. There are many movies in the Apple store that have alternate versions of the films included in the iTunes extras, such as Wrath of Khan, The Abyss, Aliens (and most of the original Alien films), Terminator 2, Logan, Spiderman 2 / 3, etc. You can find lists out there. Vudu / FAH makes often makes you buy each version separately.

The two collections have never been at historic low at the same time. Vol 2 reached historic low around the end of last year at $35, at a different time than Vol 1. I feel optimistic Vol 2 drops to $30 in the near future (the set with Nausicaa)
I bought this collection at $40. Will patiently waiting for collection 2. Thanks.

Was about to purchase but it appears all 6 movies are on HULU. FYI for anyone else that cares about that.
I'm not seeing it included with Hulu. It looks like it's specifically included with MAX which you can use via Hulu but you still need a MAX subscription added on.

Ditto. Unfortunately Apple purposefully made the only way you can watch iTunes extras is to use an Apple product or install the latest iTunes on Windows. I tried the latter first and had nothing but problems and gave up. I had an old iTunes already installed, it wouldn't let me uninstall or upgrade it without failing or getting stuck, and the instructions to fix it were more work than I wanted to spend. Fortunately Costco had a good AppleTV deal last year.

I still highly object to Apple's devious strategies of forcing people to own Apple products to watch the extras by purposefully nerfing their software on non-Apple products, but it's hard to expect different from a company like Apple which explains why I own so few Apple products and I don't worship Apple nor Costco like so many others do. I'm still what Apple and Costco lovers would call a poor trash Android and Walmart/Sam's Club guy. The lesser of 2 evils.

Great deal and just purchased. Overall, I think this set is better than Vol 2 but that set has Porco Rosso which is my favorite Miyazaki movie. It doesn't get the attention of his other movies but I think the theme is tailored more for adults but can still be enjoyed by all. Also, 2 of the movies in vol 2 are not directed by him.

I've regularly check for a deal on Porco Rosso but will get the whole volume if a deal like this pops up on it.

apologies. You're right it's with max. I purchase max through Hulu so didn't think about that.
