I don't think my 16-month Grandson will know it is unabridged, and he won't tear it up like a hard cover book if left out in his playroom. He loves to be read to and frequently will grab one of his many board books and bring to us to read.

This is an important point. While the board books are nice for very small children to play with, they're not necessarily the version of the story that you remember.

Thanks OP, nice deal and am ordering to keep on hand as a baby gift for the future. I always find out about friends or coworkers that are expecting and my favorite gift is books. I feel it's the gift of time with their child.

If you don't mind spending a bit more I love all the Sandra Boynton books and they are part of this sale. Kids love them and they also make great shower gifts.

Actually great idea! Theres a bunch of boynton box sets which also stacks. I was able to get blue, green, and yellow greatest hits box set for $41. With 4 books in each set thats about $3.5 a book, can't beat that price with boynton books theyre usually around$5

That's actually really appealing. I recall enjoying the original books as a kid but I do not enjoy reading them as an adult laugh out loud Some of them are a lot longer than I remember. An abridged board book sounds amazing.
