Like most things in life, different strokes for different folks. There can be a lot of fussing around involved with setting up monitors mounts which can be off-putting to a lot of people; many desks don't work well with mounts either. That's not to mention that mounts are an additional expense that not everyone wants to dish out for. Even this more elaborate-style riser setup is cheaper than just about any monitor arm that is actually worth purchasing while being easier to set up and still giving you back a lot of desk storage space.

I came across this while shopping for a riser, but won't be using it for monitors. I ordered it and will arrive tomorrow morning. I thought the price was right, plus I like the storage drawers.

I got this exact one in 2023. It's still going strong. Drawers are nice for keeping clutter out of the way.

One of my monitors doesn't have a VESA mount so wall mount wasn't an option.

I need dual monitors so badly but unfortunately the open space in my desk hutch isn't wide enough. This would have been perfect.

The amount of bickering over arm mounting mounted mounts vs desk mounting unarmed mount mountings needs to be dismounted. Personally I wouldn't hang arm mounts from the ceiling in order to save ceiling space. That's where my bats rest.
