They had an IT system update and wiped the balance from everyone's account. They seem to be restoring balances slowly so check back often and see if you get it back.
Thanks. That even gives me LESS confidence in Tracfone.
BTW even though my balance shows zero I sent a text to the phone and it worked. Hopefully it will glitch forever!
I just got off chat with Tracfone! about another issue.
I got prior deals from here
Glovebox phone that I keep off
I have an unexpired phone
2 weeks ago, I had 60 sms left
Turn on today, shows zero
Chat with support, asked what happened
They can't tell me
They only tell me I have zero left
I said "do you see 2 weeks ago I had 60? What happened?"
They can't see the balance 2 weeks ago, they can't tell me what happened, they can only tell me Zero

Be warned.

The safest way is to wait 60 days for phones to unlock before transfers, but you don't need to. I have transferred service of these QVC bundles 2-3 days after activation, and the inactive phones still got unlocked after 60 days.
I have transferred service after 10 minutes of activation and still able to unlock the phones. I think once the phone registers into their system, the clock starts without delay.

I just had a lengthy chat with tracfone. He insisted that the phone will only unlock after 60 days of active service, and if I activate and transfer service to another phone on day one the phone will not unlock. I don't know if I believe him. If I understand you correctly, you are saying he is wrong? TIA.

Good to know. Pre installed bloat like Candy Crush and TikTok and lord knows what else can be nuked, but bloat linked to the OS is, I guess, what I was intending to ask about

Is the OS pretty much stock Android, or has Moto wandered down the path that Samsung has (OneUI) to completely bork-up the Android-ness of the phone? Does it pretty much run the vanilla version of the operating system, without any significant customizations or modifications?
Once you get the crap out it's pretty clean other than Device Pulse (there's a few Moto quirks in the way they personalize). Definitely not as bad as Samsung OS. I still use Nova Launcher so all my phones are consistent looking (got several old TF used as WiFi devices).

Yes we are saying rep is wrong.
I've lost count of how many I've unlocked in the last few years - though I wait the 60 days before making any changes. There are lots of previous deals on SD that will confirm.

can the OS be set for a hard cap on data? I am sure my elderly FIL will find some way to turn on something that uses all the data. If we can set a cap for every 30 days it will make the data last a year.

I was also thinking we can buy this deal and then if we have to buy a 3gd data add on when needed. Even it done monthly that is only $10 a month. This would equate to 60GB of data and unlimited T&T for a year for $200 including the phone.

As someone that has moved between pixels and motorolas, I actually feel like Motorola has both barely changed it but what they have added is beneficial. Like I use the shake to turn on the camera constantly. Some of the gestures are useful if you use them. But it is mostly just android. Going from a pixel to a moto was seamless without me noticing much of a difference. My opinion at least.

From what I have read, that method is a gamble, and may or may not work (not waiting the 60 days of active service).

After you setup the phone, immediately force stop then disable Mobile Services to avoid installing of unwanted apps!

Depends on your use. For light users or those simply wanting to extend service time, the 2-pack Moto G Play 24 is a better deal - cheaper with 2 years of service.

Awesome. I thought these wouldn't come back in stock after they went out few weeks back. FYI: The SIM can be moved to a different phone after activation and the phone unlocks 2 months after activation.

Do you have to contact them to unlock or can you do it through the software? How's the camera on these?
