They had an IT system update and wiped the balance from everyone's account. They seem to be restoring balances slowly so check back often and see if you get it back.

Thanks. That even gives me LESS confidence in Tracfone.
BTW even though my balance shows zero I sent a text to the phone and it worked. Hopefully it will glitch forever!

I just got off chat with Tracfone! about another issue.
I got prior deals from here
Glovebox phone that I keep off
I have an unexpired phone
2 weeks ago, I had 60 sms left
Turn on today, shows zero
Chat with support, asked what happened
They can't tell me
They only tell me I have zero left
I said "do you see 2 weeks ago I had 60? What happened?"
They can't see the balance 2 weeks ago, they can't tell me what happened, they can only tell me Zero

Be warned.

I don't understand is the 24GB for the whole year or is it every month for 12 months
Tracfone is designed mostly for elderly that dont use their phone often. All of their plans are designed where you buy a set number of GBs for the entire duration and when you run out you refill it again

24GB for a whole year is actually considered alot for them.. alot of their startup plans are like.. 2GB for the entire year

Tip: don't waitlist this on QVC -- my order was cancelled after 45 days, and I don't know if I can get the new customer coupon again.

Tip 2: See all the automatically-renewing trial subscriptions at the bottom? As soon as you activate the phone, you need to contact 4 separate companies to cancel 4 separate subscriptions (I mean, cmon, they're all junk, you're not gonna try them), or else you'll be automatically billed in 2 months.

I'm not buying this phone/plan now that I know Tracfone has zero options for international roaming. Wifi calling is possible according to reddit (from which one is usually able to also send and receive SMS), but I don't want to be strictly reliant on it in case my overseas plan craps out. So I'm sticking with Tello for now.
LOLOL Come on, guy. Signed up for everything that came in the box. TF has never sent me any bill or have I ever entered any billing info...

Oh wow. No wonder my 24 GB of data just vanished. Text and minutes were fine

well kinda sorta. i prefer using my computer to surf over using smart phones. when i use a trac phone i run it over Wifi, so don't need many minutes. for phone calls, i prefer the free Ooma phone instead which goes free over the internet. anyone can do this, no age limit required LOL.

yes, you can wait, but i wouldnt wait more then a year. number porting is rather easy. i recently had a problem porting an old POTS line and once i did a live chat the port went through in about 5 mins! once you activate it, you need to leave the sim in the new phone until it unlocks in 60 days, then and only then can you remove it to another phone.
You do not have to use this phone for 60 days, and can swap the SIM after activation. You can text UNLOCK to 611611 and it will reply back telling you exactly when the phone would unlock. After that day, turn on wifi and stick a different SIM and the phone will unlock.

I bought a similar deal for my son a few months ago. Somehow he used all the data within a week of getting the phone smh. He said "I thought I was on wifi"

Wanted it to last the 60 days before unlocking and transferring service.

So.... are Moto phones still largely bloat-free and pretty much just the stock Android experience?

I'm using a Samsung I got from an earlier TracFone deal and I hate all the unnecessary and undeletable bloatware on it ... and only recently figured out how to block the damn thing from auto-downloading games and crap from the Samsung Store without my permission. I came from the Moto universe and never had to deal with the handholding or the shenanigans that Samsung has caused me to suffer through.

Your existing text/mins allowance will be put on hold when this unlimited plan gets activated. Once it expires after 365 days, your pre-existing txt/mins/time will be available for you again.
Does that mean year 2 and 3 will NOT be unlimited?

At this price point, this is probably the cheapest new phone that supports eSIM.

I would like to have a backup phone that does eSIM, NFC, and is water/dust resistant (IP67+). While this phone is not resistant to elements, it's still a good choice considering the price.

I want to add a data point for everyone her: stacking Unlimited Plans didn't work (as it should?!) for me.

Let's say I activate 1-year Unlimited Plan 1 on March 2025 and 1-year Unlimited Plan 2 on May 2025. Service duration will add 2 years from March 2025, so March 2027 will be the end date.

However, Unlimited service will only last until May 2026 (1 year from when the 2nd plan starts). So basically, they reset the timer on Unlimited Plan once we activate the 2nd plan.

I had contacted Tracfone agents before I stacked the plans, they told me that the Unlimited timer would reset, although it didn't show on the account.

"What will happen after Unlimited service end?" you may ask, "because there's still service duration". Well Tracfone turns your account back to Pay-As-You-Go plan without any minutes and data (if you don't refill it beforehand). This was exactly what happened to me. So be careful on stacking Unlimited plans.

You should not take the original SIM that came with this phone out because TF attaches their SIMs to specific IMEI. but you can buy a BYOP SIM card and activate it on this account and use it in your old phone. You don't need to wait the 60 days to activate the BYOP SIM and use your own phone. This phone will still unlock after 60 days post activation.
OK, I am trying to get this straight. I am not currently on tracfone. So I need to port my number in. You are saying I can put the byop in my phone, attach it to this account, port my number in, and just keep using my old phone and be able to unlock the new phone after 60 days?

Also, can I test the phone out in wifi to make sure that it is working, without activating it?
