Each time they have this sale (I have noticed for three consecutive sales), they remove a few more in-demand colors of Ghost Whisperer Hoody (Women's) and only leave the same two discounted colors: Copper Clay and Citron Glow. The first time they listed all 5-6 colors, 4 at MSRP and 2 discounted. Now they learned to hide the other colors during the sale.

Bought hoodies from them a couple years ago. Synthetic material started getting pilling after 2-3 normal wear in the city. Reached out to customer service email listed on their website and never heard back. Wouldn't recommend the brand to anyone who concerns the quality of the product and warranty.

Can't say I agree. I've had a MH Fleece zip up that's been an almost daily wear for multiple winters and holding up great. Multiple jackets too. Can't vouch for the recycled nylon on the GW, mine was the original GW.

Things don't get pilled from wearing, they get pilled from aggressive washing and drying, which is probably why they didn't write you back. However, if you write them about a technical feature on a serious piece of clothing not working as intended, they're responsive.

I have both but older versions. Ghost whisperer is an ultralight down jacket where as the Patagonia is not quite as light (looks like these are only 4oz different; 10.7 vs 14.8 oz). The Patagonia is probably going to be a bit more robust, with thicker shell, maybe a bit more warmth. If you're counting ounces and don't mind slightly less durability then Ghost whisperer is a good option especially at this price, Patagonia hoodie will probably never come this low in price.

Love Mountain Hardwear stuff. I have access to the Columbia employee store through a friend who works there, and MH is my favorite brand there. It's generally cut for athletic body shapes, and quality has been very good across jackets, tops, and pants (their Basin pant is what I now wear instead of jeans most of the time).

One note: there always seems to be a lot of focus on the Ghost Whisperer jackets during sales like this, but I don't own one because I don't need an ultralight (not a hiker, mostly use for field sports and everyday). Instead, I have a Stretchdown for <35F and and an old version of the Kor Stasis jacket for more general wear. I'll happily take extra ounces/grams to get the extra durability of their outers.
