This isn't a terrible price, but the 12700kf at $155 is a much better value imo: https://slickdeals.net/f/18193753-155-12-core-intel-core-i7-12700kf-gaming-desktop-processor-8p-4e-up-to-5-0-ghz-unlocked-at-amazon

The 14400f is basically a slightly optimized i5-12600kf configured to be more power efficient while not supporting overclocking. It uses the 3 generations old alder lake architecture.
Compared to the 14400f, the 12700kf: has two more p-cores (hyperthreaded, 4 additional threads), has additional cache, has higher boost clocks, and supports overclocking. The $25 premium is more than worth it in my eyes.

I think it depends on your use. It's important to mention the 14400f comes with a (not great but serviceable) intel stock cooler which now makes the delta between the two $50 after taxes assuming youre picking up a $20 thermaltake assassin 120. If you're not going to be overclocking and using it mainly for gaming over productivity, the 14400f has its place, not as great of a deal as the recent woot deal but a decent deal nonetheless for a budget conscious build.
