My wife and I must be the only two people on the planet who hated it. She gave up before I did, but neither of us made it to the end.
Obviously, a minority option, but there it is.

I agree. Definitely overrated. I watched it and couldn't see what all the fuss was about and also couldn't understand how Jamie Lee Curtis won best actress or supporting actress or whatever. She's a great actress, no doubt, but there were better contenders.

movie was ok, but not nearly as good as all the hype made it out to be.

You're FAR from alone on this -- I could only make it 1/2 through. Some creative ideas and execution, but devolved into a total mess of a movie. Just not for me.

It's nice to see people actually agreeing on this. I'm with you. I saw it in theaters, but if I had watched it at home, I wouldn't have finished it. That's also how I felt about Parasite. Everyone but me seems to love it.
Maybe it's you 🤔

One of the best movies made in the last 20 years and one of the more profound narratives.
There is a chaotic element to the narrative that causes everything to build to a cacophony that is hard for some people to get through before the movie tonally shifts in the last act away from being a "chosen one" kun-fu pic and becomes something entirely introspective. Up until the third act, it also tends to be "AHDH: The Movie". We have a tendency to want to have messy problems solved -- to be granted superhero status. This movie says that that is not the answer, that simply being with another one in the middle of the mess is the answer to the mess.
I am going to place a video that explains part of the movie in ways that I cannot here.

I know most movies will have a fair number of those who loved or hated it. But based on this thread and the "likes" reaction, it truly is one extreme or the other. I'm curious and will have to watch it on Disney+ to see which camp I fall in.

SORTA SPOILER ALERT: I feel like a big part of this movie that is difficult for people to like it is that they need to realize that the majority of the plot may not be actually happening. This is a story about a woman who's entire life is falling apart and she is stuck with her daydreams of what her life could have been. It's like watching the inner thoughts of someone having a complete breakdown. Could it be real? Maybe. Could it also be complete mental collapse, but then realizing that she isn't as bad off as she seems? Sure, why not.

Fantastic film. I can certainly see it not being everyone's cup of tea but to call it terrible is astonishing and shows a general lack of understanding of the various components of what makes a good film.

I started watching the 1st half of the movie last night on Max. It's definitely a bit bizarre but has comedic moments. So far, I'm glad I didn't pay $13 for the movie. Yes, I know I'm paying for Max, but that's the case with or without this movie.

The movie was incredibly average and disjointed. It felt like I was watching a modern attempt at making the same silly martial arts films I watched in the 1970's. It was precisely on pat with those films in many aspects, but I kept hoping for it to be better and it never succeeded.

I thought this movie was pretty bad. I was excited based off all the chatter around this movie and sorely disappointed.

I finished the movie that I started on Max yesterday. I wasn't impressed. I'm glad I didn't buy it. I won't watch this again.
