Woot has had it at this price for about a month now - I got it when it first dropped to $40 and I'm almost done with getting the Plat for all six in order. Some thoughts:

QoL like EXP Boost, fast forward and auto-battle are absolute lifesavers and really allowed me to play FF 1 and 2 for the first time without griping about the slowness.

Going for the plat was painful for 4 and 5 just in terms of making sure I wasn't missing any chests or bestiary since those games have a ton of one-time-only dungeons.

The redone graphics absolutely shine the most in 6, they redid the entire opera scene in something like Octopath graphics, semi-3D 2D if that makes any sense. Either way it was amazing.

As expected, the arranged music was fantastic. I went back and forth a few times to get nostalgia hits but stayed with arranged music for 90% of my playtime.

Keep droppin! Might actually bite when it's $20 on Steam. Even though I've bought these games I don't know how many times before already 🙄

You aren't kidding. I wanted FF6 for Christmas and my mom gasped at the price. Same with Chrono trigger.

CT alone was $150 dollars in 2025 money ($79 in 1995)

I lost count how many times I've bought 4. Off the top of my head…

FF2 (US)
FF Chronicles
game boy advance
Nintendo DS
After years (if it counts)
PSP
iPhone
Steam

What's another one…

EDIT: forgot my SNES classic console had it

I paid $75 for this during the initial re-release and I think it's absolutely wonderful.

The funny thing is that I purchased just Final Fantasy 6 when I was a teenager for the SNES and I believe $75 was the new price for that alone.

I guess what I'm saying is that the value here is relative, I feel like it's worth it at full price, and it's an even better deal here.

The 4 Remake on PSP was the bomb.

In for 1.. was waffling on the $50 price off Amazon. For 6 games, I dont know as this will drop much lower.

The Pixel Remaster is so well done. The 16-bit artwork is the perfect "median" aesthetic for all the games to make them feel like you remember them, and the music orchestration is amazing. I think I paid $60 on Switch (not even the physical version). Not cheap but the quality makes it feel worth it.

I'm currently playing the FFV pixel remaster on Steam and its absolutely amazing. They did a perfect job of updating the graphics but keeping the original feel. Didn't over do it making it look too modern.

I played these back in the day on the original systems, but seriously have no desire to revisit these for nostalgia unless this hits a price point of $25 or less (I'm probably not in their target market of retro/nostalgia gamers). I've enjoyed playing Final Fantasy 16 and 7 Rebirth both in the past year, and will likely continue to purchase future new release games they put out though. If Woot has a large stock of these, I'm sure the price will drop further as the niche market of hardcore Final Fantasy fans probably has already bought this by now.

Did many people buy SNES games full price? It was pretty easy to wait a bit and buy games at $10-$20, or rent them for $5.

Right! But it's only $10 more for the Switch version right now. Not great but not bad either.
