Great specs. I would like to have one in this form factor. But I have seen on these deal posts that mini PCs might not last too long. Any feedback from long-term users? Is it mainly heat-related issues? I imagine a powerhouse like this could get pretty hot, with no room for good cooling solutions.

I think part of the issue with MiniPCs is that the companies are small operations and it's evolving. The build quality seems to get better and better over time and they're better cooling the new models.

Apple has no problem making reliable small computers, this is just a quality issue.

Just a heads-up that if your Minisforum has issues, the customer support is not fun to deal with. I purchased a Neptune series (HX100G) a couple of months ago, and the GPU fan bearings went out. I emailed support asking if I could purchase a replacement fan and it has turned into a never ending string of emails requesting videos, sound clips, suggesting that I break down the computer and search for "debris" floating around inside, suggesting that it is normal for it to make loud grinding noises, etc. I had wrongly assumed that offering to purchase a replacement rather than requesting warranty service would have led to a quicker repair on my end.

Every model has different cooling solution but for this model, the cooling solution is pretty solid. Check the review below: -
https://www.notebookcheck.net/Min...693.0.html

Rather than running the 7945HX to its highest TDP mode, they have made sure that it boost up to 100W max and stable around 85W. In Cinebench loop, the temp never goes up over 85 degree C, which is a pretty good for a 16 Core CPU, taxing all the cores.

I have this. Running Ubuntu 24.04 and its been solid so far. Only downside is no USB4 or Oculink so no EGPU options unless you mod the case and use the M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 4x4. The 7600M XT is decent tho - I have 3x32in 1440p monitors and plenty fps for CS2 at 1440p which is all I play 😀.

$769 is a great price as I paid $999. If I were to do it again I'd probably pay the extra and get it for the current $889 price on Amazon though. The first one I received from Minisforum had major issues - ports misaligned, case not fitting right etc. and while Minisforum were really helpful it took 5 weeks for the replacement.

I wonder how powerful it is compared to HX99G with 6600M. I am thinking of getting this instead.

The CPU performance is a lot better, almost twice. Regarding GPU, RX 7600M XT is around 15%-20% more powerful in games @ 1080p and 1440p.
