Thoughts? This or the Greentoe C4?
This already comes with 2 year warranty and the refurbished says "like new". Anyone have experience with Walmart refurbished items?

Beach Camera is a top seller and definitely legit. Quick searches on Reddit show many happy customers for major electronics purchase.
My mom has been in the market for a mid-priced tv and this deal gives her access to a higher end model. She got the 4-year additional Allstate warranty for less than $100 also for peace of mind.

90 days to return in store. Sold by Beach Camera, and fulfilled by Wal-Mart. I haven't had any problems with Beach Camera the few times I purchased from them. They've been around a long time and have their own website. As for the TV, this has Google TV which is widely supported and more open and flexible than some of the other platforms. Last I heard, Sony uses an LG panel, so probably not much difference there.

Just bought the same TV through BuyDig on Ebay https://slickdeals.net/f/18168202-refurb-w-2-year-warranty-65-sony-bravia-8-k65xr80-4k-oled-tv-1199-free-s-h?src=SiteSearch (Beach Camera is their parent) so this seems like the same stock but better price. Not sure if a CPS warranty is different than AllState, but ours looks brand new but was shipped in a blank box. Seems to be the only difference.

One commenter in the attached thread said these may be new just sold 'refurb' to avoid competing with MSRPs for partners, but seems like a great price either way with the warranty.

If I buy the Allstate insurance, does it mean I get 2+4 years of warranty/protection? And does it cover burn in? Debating between this and LG C4 and Samsung d90 for a few hundred more. Any thoughts?

They each start from purchase. But if you go for the 4 yr, might as well just get the 5 yr instead for $15 more.

Huge difference, Sony excels in firmware, hence the reason they arguably have the best PQ. My friend has an LG and to me there is no comparison PQ to my Sony OLED.

Meaning the firmware and image processing on your Sony makes it better than the regular LG, correct?

Correct. Sony also has firmware updates that can and have improved PQ over the years and have been used to differentiate various of their models with a couple of bells and whistles also changed. I also think OLED burn-in is overhyped so long as you don't leave the TV on with a static picture, and have never had a problem with a Sony TV.

Thanks - I currently have a LG B9 Oled from around 2020 - thinking about upgrading but not sure if necessary or not.

S85d can be had for 849 with EPP and a crap trade in, seems like a no brainer for a new TV with similar specs at a 15% discount. Might be able to get even lower with chat or app discounts

Why would you prefer Samspung over Sony?
