I got this a couple months ago. Absolutely adore it. Great intro to at home automatic espresso. We have the one with the frother attachment and I would say that's probably a standard worth buying.

I ought this and had to return it. It was very nice and fast. Great espresso but it just would not get hot enough. I increased the temperature through the app to the max and still a no go. Also if you wanted a americano double size it never would get to the size of a regular cup of coffee.

Gets plenty hot for normies, and you don't understand espressos/americanos if you want it to have the same volume as drip coffee. Great machine, great price. You won't miss having a frothing wand, if you buy an Aeroccino which is better anyway.

The original price is $229 and not $299. So, $40 less...

Nope. As I wrote, better to pair with an Aeroccino.
A $120 frother for a $180 machine?

Both my friend and I had aerocinnos, both died right after warranty. After about a few months of use, there was inexplicably constantly burnt milk on the bottom after each use. Container is useless for latte art. Milk was OK, but not better than properly using a steam wand. I can't imagine why you are so ardently pushing a subpar, overpriced product.

Recommend this if you are looking for a entry level super-auto that meets espresso needs, consistently.
Two months ago, brought this cafe Affetto from Buydig for $189, then cancelled same day and bought the frother version from eBay for $229. Super happy with the machine.
A few things to look out for:
- The new machine may be air locked, which is very common, just be patient while you un-airlock it. manual is not much use, youtube video helped. Instructions below if you are curious how to.
- The default setting uses too much beans and produces too little espresso, but I was able to adjust the water to grind ratio in the app.
- if I knew, I wouldn't have updated the app to the latest version, you lose a lot of customizability of water : beans grind time from prior s/w version. With the default s/w, I was able to tweak and find the right balance to get a consistent perfect espresso based on my custom blend of beans. Once system updated, everything reset and have fewer tweak options, still decent.
- Glad I got the frother version, takes about 45 secs to heat and froth up 1-2fl oz milk and make a good latte.
- Dark roast/Oily beans are not recommended, But my favorite beans are costco organic Colombian medium/dark roast which are semi oily. So I mix the medium/dark roast with costco Ethiopian light roast 40:60 to make a perfect (to my taste) espresso and machine is happy too. If not light to medium roast are recommended.
-Dont use hard water which may clog up lines, regular filtered tap water with medium/low hardness is fine. comes with water hardness test kit, which is handy.
-Dont spill water outside the water tank into the tank holder, it may trigger a false air lock.
Instructions to un-airlock the machine:
remove water tank, Fill with water, push the white knob at bottom of water tank a few times over a sink to let some water out, wipe outside of water tank (important), put water tank in the machine, refill tank above waterline carefully not spilling water outside, and follow un-airlocking steps as per manual (press two button together) and be patient while the machine tries to un-airlock. I had success the second time.
enjoy!

Edit:
For those who complain about espresso not hot enough,. be sure to pre-warm the cup with hot water, dump water and use it for espresso, makes a big difference when you drink your espresso.

You're over thinking it. This is a nice looking, easy to use, fast espresso machine for beginners or maybe just budget home users who don't care that much.

I wake up, I push the button. Delicious Americano appears. I froth my chocolate protein drink and pour it in to my cup. Life is good. And cheap. And easy.
