But why do we need RFID blocking? I can't fit my passport in it, my credit cards are protected with an encryption chip, and I don't think my driver's licence has anything in it, or does it? What standard?

Actually, I carry an RFID key in my wallet, so I'd rather not block any signals

So, unless you have a passport card or an unprotected key to some sensitive place, what's the deal about blocking RFID?

Successful indoctrination is the key to any complacent society.
When people are told their data can be stolen by RFID with no education on how, they take it wholesale.
When someone understands how RFID actually works, they realize it's smoke.

These wear very very badly. Mine looked chapped and deformed within the first 12 months.

Why should it? RFID blocking is a scam. Name me one incident Where someone's card info was stolen by RFID? Just name one. ☝️ I bet you can't, because the threat is baseless. Maybe you should read up on how credit and debit cards use EMV Chip Technology to generate unique, encrypted transaction codes for each purchase, making them Extremely !!! difficult to counterfeit.

Anyone that claims their card info was stolen by RFID it just plain clueless and more than likely got the card compromised from using it at a POS with a skimmer attached or just handing it over to a fast food worker or waiter.

You are so absolutely right. The last time I bought a wallet it took me ages to find one that didn't have that RFID blocking garbage.

Your passport has a RFID Blocker built into the cover. Not that it does anything. Thieves want the physical passport to sell on the black market.
