I did buy the M4 13" air today for $949 with 16/512 and No tax. So, hopefully I'll be happy with it.

Do they even hear themselves when they say things like that in the design room, or do they really think we're falling for it?
Even then, our business machines ALL had no less than 16gb of ram. I can't even imagine running less than 32gb today, which is the new "base" amount. If someone is doing literally any serious work, they're going to get bumped to 64gb or whatever they spec out their needs to be.
But 8gb -- don't most phones have more than that nowadays?

Second of all, we're talking about RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY, not SSD storage. 8gb of memory is...unacceptable.
I use a 16gb RAM mac, and it's just barely acceptable. So...maybe if you don't do that much with those "ARM AND LEG" applications, go knock yourself out with a puny 8gb of ram.
Better speakers and screen don't mean a thing if you can't use it for anything!
