The Bounty basic version is also on sale for $90, which I think is a better value if you have the space for the larger unit. But I don't know if it comes with pods. Mine did with herbs when I purchased in December 2024.
Bought one of these a while back thinking I'd have a bunch of fresh herbs all the time. Had a couple pods that didn't germinate at all and since they grow in at different rates the faster ones take over pretty quickly if you don't actively keep them in check. The plants also don't last that long and you need to eventually reseed and regrow.
yeah the biggest mistake people make getting into aerogarden is filling all the slots. Intuitively you get 6 slots and 6 pods so you think you just plant them all but nope. If I'm growing herbs, big plants like basil, dill, or thyme can get 3 slots each, so I might end up planting something like 1 basil, and a few smaller plants like chives, on the other side to not overcrowd. Right now i have 2 tomatoes going in one unit, and 4 baby bok choy in the other (both 6 pod units)

It came. "Close out" in quotes, though.

We just had so much trouble with alge growth in these. I just run the lamp with some plants in potting soil instead and it's much less trouble.

You could get a head start for transplanting.

I think any cheap tiered sprouter would be fine for microgreens. This isn't really the thing for it.

Were you letting light get to the water?
I don't have any algae growth even after weeks in my units, but I also tape off any openings that are being used and reinforce any of the green stickers on the pods if they are not keeping the light out. I've even 3D printed plugs. Any light bleed messes everything up.
I also believe the "no mess" in the marketing is an utter lie.

No they never filed for bankruptcy. They announced they were shutting down, but after hearing their customers feedback they decided to keep going.

This is so right! I had cherry tomatoes going for over a year in mine, I wish I would have only done 1 plant instead of two. The plants were fighting each other for light and even with trimming the roots they displaced a lot of water and needed refilling frequently.

If you don't have covers for the extra holes I found golf balls worked well for covering the unused slots.
