Honestly even selling an opened game as "new" should be illegal - at best opened games should be advertised as LNIB. Not my first bad experience with Gamestop, but it will be my last. I will never give this company another dime.
Thanks OP!
Same, and it worked with the $5 monthly coupon, so $15 here.

Quote from its page: "Coupon expires by 6:00pm Central the last day of the promotion. No cash value. No refunds"

The remake is a lot prettier obviously. It really doesn't have too much added from the original. Some of the combat mechanics make it a bit more friendlier. Like being able to swap out party members during battle, even downed ones

Never again though. Like I said, I'll never give Gamestop another dime. They almost never have decent sales on anything anyways. It took me years to spend the gift card that they made me buy in order to purchase my PS5 from them (I bought mine back when they were impossible to find and they were forcing bundles). Even with the $5 monthly credit, there was rarely a decent deal on a game that wasn't as cheap or cheaper elsewhere.
Granted, I've played this game a couple times before on SNES and ROM, but it's been 15+ years, and I'm not sure how much that would change the difficulty (mechanically it's pretty simple and straight forward, especially by modern standards)
