I bought this around a month ago from Costco for around 2300 with a 5 year total warranty. Amazing TV, highly recommended. That said, I hate what Tizen has become, so I just use my existing Apple TV in lieu of the apps on the TV.

Using an Apple TV 4K with any TV is the move. The experience is so much better.

Congratulations on your new TV! Since you have a 2024 Samsung TV, I'd like to know if it has received or will receive an update that includes Samsung Vision AI like the 2025 models.

If you buy just know this TV has a high failure rate with the power board. Mine died after 10 weeks of owning it. The 3rd party repair company said 5 business days to get the part and once they have it only then can they schedule a date for repair. Well after 6 business days I called and they said the part is on back order and could take 3 more weeks. I ended up requesting a refund and 5 weeks later they scheduled a date to pick up the TV. Hopefully they've fixed the problem but I wasn't willing to take that risk.

I think the NVIDIA SHIELD Pro is better if you want to run your own APK's etc. I've been using the Apple TV 4K since 2017, and I prefer the interface and One Home feature.

I prefer Android TV OS, like the Google TV streamer, because I can sideload apps for IPTV, movies, and series, as well as use YouTube without ads for free. I'm not sure if Apple TV allows that since I've never tried it.

Shield TV might be the last one that's 'safe', but didn't they start shoving garbage advertising all over the Android TV OS?

Wise move to take the refund.

Samsung had an outbreak of power supply failure about 15 years ago on their TVs. I repaired 2 due to capacitor failure back then.

Bad electronic parts batch happens, but Samsung denied that it was systemic and that was sad to see.

Will Samsung be different this time is anyone's guess.

I was considering this model but it's not discounted enough to take on the risk.

So I have the c4 and the s90c (which is very similar to s90d). I've been watching white lotus and it looks incredible on the c4 with dolby vision. S90c looks good too but the lack of dolby vision is a killer honestly. That being said Netflix just announced theyll be supporting hdr10+ by the end of the year which is HUGE. Hoping HBO jumps on it too.
