You can always tell the people who don't actually use tools - they pull out that little chestnut they heard 50 years ago.

Everything in your house is SAE except automobiles .

Plumbing, playground equipment, garage doors, lighting, fencing hardware, TV mounting hardware, large appliances, furnaces, water heaters.

never had a reason for impact sockets in 1/4".
a nice set of 3/8" or 1/2" deep impacts would be nice to find.
mostly the bigger nuts and bolts i have the trouble with.
but thats just my opinion.
