Not my cup of tea, but this is a superb price on a decent EDC knife. It's not a really nice knife, but it's solid and gets the job done for most folks. Repped.

Sadly, like most old school US brands, Schrade has moved their production overseas for this and other Old Timers. Reviews still say that the blade steel is excellent at holding an edge, although somewhat brittle if you use it for prying. There's also a 3 blade version for $14.99 that I didn't post, will link below.

I couldn't pass this $9 one up at this price so I grabbed one. Thanks for the rep and comment.

My EDC is a Canal Street Cutlery lockback (D-2 steel). If I recall correctly, the company was formed by long-time managers & craftsmen of ex-Schrade employment some 20 years ago. When I discovered them, I realized the fine quality/craftsmanship that could be had for some $70. or so, I bought a number of their pinch lockbacks & just tucked them away in my closet. Unfortunately, they closed shop some 10 years ago, I believe, although some other company, perhaps Smith & Sons, bought their equipment/facilities, and now produce knives for north of $200, I think. Anyway, Schrade/Old Timer are good products when purchased on sale especially, and, as stated, will get the job done for most folks.

There's nothing like high end tools for everyday use. I tend to go cheap on occasional use things. It's a shame your favored knife maker closed up shop, but it sounds like you stocked up somewhat for the long term.

By the way, I just posted a Leatherman Bolster at a pretty good price. Not the grade you're used to, but a solid EDC with a sheath for $34.
