I'd suggest reading through the reviews on Costco before getting this. Low capacity, and some complain about it overheating their phone. May be due to it being Qi (and not Qi2 which has better heat management).

7.5w is actually better if you care about temperature

And it really doesnt matter. I have never had an issue with charging speed on a magsafe battery. You leave it on until your phone is charged and the battery is depleted. Its not like sitting down to plug your phone in an outlet to get a quickie before you go somewhere. The battery goes with you

Mostly agree, but on the other hand, this potentially will heat up your phone more due to the thermal loss from inductive charging. I'd argue faster wireless charging could be beneficial. Less time spent charging. You don't want batteries to be too hot too long for battery health. Tho 15w vs 7.5w difference is up to you to decide if worth

Agree with the others that a slower charge is preferable via Wireless/Mag. Any fast wireless charger I have used always made the phone uncomfortably hot... Wired PD is the best choice if you need speed.

This 10,000mAh from Anker is the same price ($25) on Amazon. Would this be a better option than 2x 5000mAh packs?

I'd say no. Typically these types of chargers are used to keep you alive since you can use them in your pocket/purse while on the go. Also, I have both a 10k and 5k and the 10k is just big enough to be annoying while the 5k is small enough to still fit in most pockets. Also, having two is always nice.
It really depends on your use case, but I love the 5k chargers to have in emergencies. Also, the 10k is also a 7.5w charger.

I bought these from Costco for $32. One died immediately and Costco exchanged them. I like the convenience of charging my phone while on my gyms elliptical.

You so correct.

If it's for travel you want the 15 W wireless though.

My rules of thumb:

Home
Slow 7.5 wireless charger for overnight charging
Fast Wired Charger for when you need to leave in 20 min or whatever

Car
Charger with both slow and fast wired charging, two cables

Travel
Fast 15 watt wireless power bank, with fast wired port. Also the power bank itself should charge very quickly. Many power banks will charge it 45 W 60 W or even 100 W now. Hold out for those by once. I can even preach you that I have way too many chargers. Learn from others mistakes.

I think you have a good mind on you but I think you're just incidentally 100% wrong. Simply put, by charging slower you are financing the heat. The max temperature is lower the entire time and it goes longer. Going longer is less of a problem than having a higher top heat.

I think you suspect there is a overhead of heat that is added when one charges slow. but I don't think there is.

Another ninja tidbit of throw into everyone is that a few fast charge your phone while using the high CPU application or a bright screen your phone is getting very hot compared to normal. When my brain gets picky I will do software updates without plugging it in because it doesn't need to go through all the processes and charge at the same time.
