Found Sparks (not Spark) esim company data only 3 GB for 60 days at $6.10
Apparently routed through Poland.
I'm only travelling from US for 18 days so I have some time to test it before heading overseas.
All of my contacts use Whats App so phone and text plan isn't needed, just cell data.
Only needed for when open/free wifi isn't in reach.
Any WARNINGS or experiences of concern, or reasonable alternatives?

Just discovered that my cheapo Tello acct. $10 unlimited talk and text with 2 GB data comes with FREE International wifi calling. Been with Tello for years and the plans and customer service are excellent. I'm not watching cat videos all day and the plan provides for what I need.
Soooo, with my wifi enabled phone, as long as I have wifi, I can switch to my regular Tello sim for texting and calling to, from and within the countries on my trip. Not just those I mentioned on WhatsApp.
Just use the phone as if I were calling from US, by dialing the 011 US exit code and then country code and # of wherever I am calling. No 011 for calling friends in US.
I'll switch back to Sparks esim for data when I am out, and about to get lost. NOTE: Sparks rep advised that 60 day plan begins when you purchase the sim, NOT when you activate it.

which one did you end up getting?
you can use Wi-Fi calling only when Wi-Fi is available. for navigation and stuff, have your offline maps ready in Google maps
I'll be in the same boat around July for 2 weeks travel
Ended up with Sparks 3GB Global data only plan for $6.30 for 60 days.
I did look casually at some of the providers you mentioned but the 60 day plan and covered countries Sparks offer suited my needs.
Just wanted cellular for real time navigation where off line maps might fail(?) Daughter is a Google Fi user and cautioned about limits of offline maps but adding me for $45 for 30 days seemed unnecessary and I won't be driving anyway.
For "cellular" calls, applications like Skype, WhatsApp, Telegram, and FaceTime currently support VoIP.
In a real emergency, I can ask a passerby to drag my bruised and bloody body to the nearest strong wifi signal or pay phone booth to drop a few coins in the slot?
I don't have that many friends to call anyway, even before the tariffs.
I'll report back when I return.
Just returned form 18 days abroad. As posted Denmark, Germany and England.
Used Sparks data mainly to get live directions to sites when away from wifi.
3GB plan $6 for 60 days.
Home Tello phone cell service includes unlimited talk and text for $10 including international over wifi worked when needed. (Used twice)
Sparks worked flawlessly and only used about 1GB the entire trip.
Good coverage.
Good value.
