This isn't advertised as being a bag of seed. It's a patch and repair. All products like this have much more mulch and fertilizer than seed. The average person would have no clue how to grow grass from straight seed, this product provides everything needed to just spread, water and grow. You also need to have a yard or some property to actually grow grass. Maybe that's why you're so salty reading this in your apartment🤣

Most residential Bermuda lawns are hybrid and not common Bermuda. There is a difference in color and leaf type. And since it is Bermuda it will be nearly impossible to kill. Unless you are certain you have common Bermuda do not use.

You can harvest runners or get a plugging tool to take Bermuda for good sections of your yard to fill in.

94 percent of the bag is filler, mostly mulch. What a joke. So, 5% seed. Imagine being dumb enough to buy this thinking you are getting a deal.

I bought the tall fescue version of this last season to fill a few bare patches in my yard. Lackluster coverage due to all the crappy filler. I felt ripped off.

Works well for small areas, just sprinkle generously and water. Easy to use. It works, but you'll need to spread it fairly generously - there's a lot of mulch in it. Others that report it sucks aren't using enough. It's definitely more expensive than the traditional way, but it's easy. It may be the right choice for you, if it's just small spots and you don't want to mess around.

Also: there are blends made for both "southern" or "northern" lawns. This may or may not be the right version for you. Do your research on grass that is best for your area (or the same as what you have) first.

BUT (and it's a big one woot): if you're seeding a large area, you'll be better off buying just a bag of seed as others have said, maybe some topsoil to spread also. I'd rather have multiple times more seed and have a bit wash away, better bang for the buck even with the lost seed. And seed + topsoil is MUCH cheaper than this stuff. For a few square feet, the price difference doesn't matter to me. But with hundreds of sq ft, the price difference multiplies quickly. You're paying pretty much the price per pound for seeds with this stuff, but it's mostly mulch.

These mixes are meant to be used for fixing small patches. Their seed contents is mostly rye seed, which grows fast but dies off at the end of the season.

I've used Scott's EZ, and while it "works", it's performance has been worse than straight up seed and top soil.
