I have the cutters and just be prepared to barely fit a ziptie in the jaws when all the way open…

Good thing I scrolled down to read the comments. I almost bit on this @ $10 per tool, but nope. Hard pass.

I have similar Kobalt set and none of then open as wide as they would if they were regular style pliers but I still find them of great use.The jaws not opening wide is kind of inherent to the design. The compound action limits on end of function but shines when you need to apply heavy force to cut or grip. I definitely appreciate them then. I don't consider them general use pliers and they do not get that much use but I sure like to have them when they are needed.

Have a pair of the lineman's pliers. Hate the loose locking mechanism. Always flops around and jams.
Should rip it off

Echoing what others say. These are just ok. Mine have developed rust on them without being mistreated or left in the elements. Pretty disappointed in them.

As others have said. The pliers ends don't open very far apart and when you open them all the way you would need LeBron James hands to get around the handles

which brand and model do you guys recommend as a lineman's plier? Hoping to rewire the house on my own in the near future.
